We Are Alive! December 10th, 2024 Night Grocery Visit

avatar

In preparation for a wedding shower that my wife is managing, we had to get some last-minute supplies. We were out of cake flour and cream of tartar. We also needed some tea. These days, a quick run to the grocery store for a few items usually ends up being $40 - $50. Since our normal discount grocer wasn't open and may not have the specialty items we were looking for, we visited the conventional store.

Two fluid oz of Vanilla extract is $13, wow. If anyone can grow vanilla beans, make an extract out of it and sell it for $0.21/ml.

It was a fun and quick outing. It truly is a luxury for us to get supplies so quickly and easily with several stores nearby.

Teach Your Children Liberty from Sin

We encourage parents to teach their children principles of Godliness, beginning with the Word and an understanding who God is and what His Son has done to form a relationship with us.

No one can lay a foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, his workmanship will be evident, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will prove the quality of each man’s work. 1 Corinthians 3:11-13

Teach Your children Liberty from Tyranny

Second to this is the principle of self-determination and freedom, lest we loose the ability to teach our children the first principle in future generations.

Our children read the Tuttle Twin books, specifically to learn libertarian principles, which most people learn later in life. These books are useful for our family, and yours, to teach children concepts that seem complicated, but are made simple in these books.

I am an affiliate for Libertas Publishing, your purchase will help our family grow financially.

My usual grocery cost was around $20 pre pandemic but now it's double that. Inflation really hit us hard.

Crazy how prices are going up. We like to get supplies discounted, so we can sometimes find it vanilla at a better price. !BBH

Wow vanilla extract is so expensive, I'm not completely sure, but I think in Estonia it's around 6€ for the same amount

I can't imagine vanilla beans are all that expensive, seems like the extract should cost less, even with inflation. !BBH

Thankfully, the only traffic i'm aware of was on the road on the way to the store. !BBE

Wow that's extremely expensive for vanilla extract!😳
We have been buying vanilla pods for a few years, and letting them soak in pure vodka.
Right now we're working on a bottle that was started in 2015. Nothing nicer than pure homemade vanilla!!

We started this a few years back when vanilla prices got too expensive, plus it eliminates all of the coloring and additives!😀👍
