Allergic Conjunctivitis: This is an inflammation of the eye, that happens when someone has an allergic reaction. Triggers for allergies are; pet dander, pollen, dust, and mold spores.
With the presence of this condition, a red, watery, itchy, and burning eye causes the condition. The skin around the eye would look puffy or swollen, especially while walking.

The allergy could be prevented by completely avoiding the allergen. Applying a cold compress to the point of inflammation, it is important not to rub the eyes as this could worsen the symptoms.

Actinomycosis: A rare and potentially long-term bacterial infection that causes abscesses and swelling in the soft tissues of the body. This condition has a serious effect on the mouth, stomach, throat, intestines, and nose. Other symptoms are; weight loss, cough, fever, skin soreness, chest pain, and lumps on the face.

In order to treat this condition, a high dose of antibiotic penicillin will be administered. Other forms of antibiotics are prescribed for people who are allergic to penicillin, treatment takes time but it is not contagious.

Cellulitis: This is a bacterial skin infection that causes swelling and redness that feels hot to touch. The condition is painful, and when it isn't treated, it is a life-threatening condition. Aside from a swollen face, it also comes with other symptoms like; chills, fever, and streaks of red from the rash.

Angioedema: This is a swelling that occurs deep within the skin and comes from an allergic reaction to medication, food, or other forms of allergen, like an insect bite or sting. Alongside facial swelling, it also comes with other symptoms; itching, hives, rash, and stomach cramps.

If angioedema is still mild, it may not require any form of treatment, but the allergen responsible for the symptoms need to be avoided completely. Home remedies will help alleviate the discomfort felt, and wearing a loose cloth.

Anaphylaxis: This is a medical emergency and a severe reaction to an allergen. The symptoms of anaphylaxis would appear after exposure to the allergen. These symptoms include; nausea and vomiting, itching, breathing difficulty, swelling of the face, rapid heart rate, diarrhea, and a sudden drop in blood pressure.

First-time patients of anaphylaxis would most likely experience it again, so they should avoid exposure to the allergen and move around with epinephrine all the time.

Cushing's Syndrome: This disorder makes the body produce an excessive hormone called cortisol. People who have this syndrome have a puffy, round face, the skin bruises easily and it also creates excessive or thick body hair. The treatment of this condition depends on the underlying causes.

Broken Nose: When there is an injury to the face, it can cause the bone in the nose to break, these traumas would cause facial swelling and other symptoms like; pain, nosebleeding, crooked nose, and bruising. A broken nose will usually not require medical treatment, but with a fatal facial injury, a medical emergency is needed.

Allergy to Drugs: Another reason why the face swells could be a result of drug allergy. Stomach upset, fever, breathing difficulties, and rapid heartbeat are also contributing symptoms.

Conclusion.

Understanding one's allergies is essential to prevent swelling of the face, Reading prescriptions, and descriptions of items before taking or using them. Once you begin to react to a medicine, then stop taking it immediately.
