I wish I had studied veterinary
Since I was a child I have always liked animals, although there are some that intimidate me a bit I feel empathy for these living beings, that's why I wanted to have pets, my first pet was a cat and after it there were others and also dogs, unfortunately with the years died and others I gave them up for adoption, but I am one of the people who is not afraid or disgusted to do what I have to do for the well-being of pets.

I was so fascinated by animals that I used to watch television programs on channels like Animal Planet or Discovery whenever I had the opportunity in a house that had cable TV, I also spent a lot of time reading a large 25-volume encyclopedia that I still have (there was no internet), it contained all the topics but I focused on looking specifically for animals, I wrote the content of the animals that I liked in a notebook, that is, everything related to this creature, in a few words I had a small encyclopedia of handwritten animals in my notebook. But I never saw something related to animals as something possible to study, due to my environment, economic possibilities and my geographical location.

I am currently 33 years old and I studied two majors but none of those veterinary, my last Yellow cat died at the beginning of April, he was only 4 years with us at home, it's been a month and a half since I went through that loss and it still hurts, This has generated many reflections in me and it could be said that it has even opened my eyes regarding the opportunities in life, as it turns out that they are currently offering the veterinary degree at a university that is in my town, knowing this news made me It made me happy but at the same time it caused me a certain sadness, because at my age it is very difficult for me to start studying another university degree, the economic and time implications are decisive, my objective now is to work to support my son, so I do not see it as viable start studying a career to get a degree close to 40 years old, if time went back the situation would be the same because before they didn't teach the career in my city. But then I would like to be able to rejuvenate at least 10 years and thus, with all the energy in the world, study veterinary medicine.

It is very painful to see animals die, I took my last cat to the vet and bought him medicine and he still died, the problem is that I did not detect the disease in time, my cat did not show symptoms until it was too late, but if I If I were a vet, I could have seen the signs in time, even if I didn't save my cat, I would have the opportunity to help many other pets that I cared for. I also consider that consultation costs are very expensive in my country and even more so in my town, so I would be a veterinarian who would set low rates, because it does not seem fair to me that people have to do raffles and fundraising campaigns to being able to care for their pets in my country, they don't know how many cases I see daily on social networks of people asking for help to treat their pets. I wish I could be younger and sign up for that carrer.

So sorry about your pet. It's not easy taking care of animals especially when ill because they can't talk and by the time you detect it might be too late. I studied Zoology and in Animal behavior, there might be some strange attitude or symptoms about your pet a little different from when they are healthy. My dad loves keeping goats and he lost some of them due to the fact that he ignored some signs about them, I think we should pay more attention to animals like we do to human, cars hit them here and they are just left alone, dogs stray on the streets with no owner, some eat poisonous food and just die, those that love pets like you do might change the hearts of those who don't care

It is very sad how so many people do not care about the lives of animals, I have also seen how people have pets but do not take care of them, do not bathe them, have them tied up and give them rotten food, they have cats so that they hunt mice but they do not They feed them with food, they have dogs to be guardians of their house but they don't even caress them, sometimes I don't know why such indolent people have pets.

If it is still within your possibilities, I don't think it is too late to study this career. When you are 40 you will see that you still feel very young and with a lot of vitality and life ahead of you.
I have a bit of a complicated life right now and I don't feel confident that I can organize all my activities, I don't want to start and then give up. thank you very much for your support 😊
Maybe later on you will have the opportunity to study that career or maybe another related one at a technical level, because there is no age limit to study. In the meantime, keep learning about animals. Just like in humans, the body sends signals, but sometimes we ignore them. Pets are adorable and will always be remembered with love.
