Wednesday Walk - A Pleasant Morning around the Hotel

avatar

Currently, I am on a work trip for the next few days. During this time, my coworkers and I are staying at a hotel called Graha D'Fit. The hotel is located in the Simeulue district, an island on the west coast of Sumatra, and is one of the outermost islands in Aceh province. The location of this hotel is between the city center and the harbor, making its location very strategic.

For this #Wednesdaywalk story, I will share my experience walking around the hotel this morning. The rooms in this hotel are not in one building like hotels in urban areas in general, but consist of rooms that are separated from one another, with several rooms on the water.

Some rooms face each other and are separated by a moat filled with seawater. At high tide, the moat would be filled with water and small fish, while at low tide, the moat would be dry.

Aside from the unique shape and position of the rooms, the dining room of this hotel is equally unique. When having breakfast in the room, we will be presented with a very beautiful view of the bay. If you're lucky, you can even see some local fishing boats passing around the bay.

Another thing that I noticed is that the buildings in this hotel are quite varied in color, be it the buildings, or even the open areas around them. In addition, some trees are also planted in such a way in the open space in this hotel.

The price per room starts from 350K IDR - 600K IDR (~25 - 40 USD) and includes breakfast for two. The most expensive room type (I forgot the name of the room type) can accommodate up to 3 people and there is transparent glass on the floor, which allows for a clear view of the seawater and any marine life that may be passing by.

Overall I really enjoyed the time I spent at this hotel. Hopefully, you can use this experience as a reference if you ever visit the island. Thank you and see you in the next post.

Wow this' an incredible place to be. I really love the chill environment and the transparent fixes around it, although it may not be that so advisable to lodge with kids to avert uncertainties but it's environment really worth it and 40USD per day is also a good one for the rooms. Nice shots bye.

Hi, Thank you for your compliment!
I think it would be okay to go with the kids, but yeah, I must admit that we need to give extra attention to watching their movement as some of the places don't has a fence on them.

I so much thought of the possibility of hedging all the environment of the suite but not minding as you said, kids can still go with their guardians but extreme care must be meted on them as like case has happened here in my Country where Davido a popular Nigerian artist's kid was drowned in a pool because of the carefree behavior of his employees. Well did enjoy your response bye.
