Random Pictures From Alue Naga, Aceh - Indonesia

Finally, after a few months filled with various activities, towards the end of this year, I can breathe more freely and enjoy the free time I have on weekends. However, my friend who I usually hang out with was out of town, so I ended up just spending the afternoon visiting an area called Alue Naga. This area is administratively the boundary between Banda Aceh City and Aceh Besar District. This place is often used as a choice to relax while telling stories or just enjoying the scenery around it, both by young people and those who are married. Since I was alone, enjoying the view was the only option I had.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention that this area is on the banks of one of the largest rivers in Aceh, the "Krueng Aceh" River, and not far from the estuary. While enjoying the scenery around, of course, I did not forget to take various random pictures that I thought were interesting to capture. The first picture is of a traditional boat of local fishermen parked not far from where I was sitting. The tide was low at the time, so the boat was fully visible. The bow of fishing boats in Aceh is generally made towering and so are the right and left sides. This is because the waves in the Aceh waters are generally quite high, so with this structure, the waves can be broken and the water does not enter the boat.

Unlike the first picture where the boat was abandoned by its owner, the second picture was quite far from where I was sitting. A fisherman is seen tidying up his fishing net beside his small canoe. Yes, the fisherman was standing in this relatively shallow river. His blue boat and clothes look contrasting because of the green trees seen behind him. The activity of fishing in this river is also often carried out by the surrounding community. The catch is usually used for personal consumption, sold, or even used as bait stock when fishing in open waters.

After taking the picture and observing the fisherman tidying up his fishing net for a while, I swept my gaze to the left where I saw the same setting but without any other objects. Just a river with a road that no one was crossing and green trees standing tall behind it. Truly, this scene felt very peaceful and I was very happy to see it.

A little further to the left, the same scene with the added background of a mountain that I didn't know the name of also looked very mesmerizing. Unfortunately, due to the distance, I don't think the quality of this image is as good as the previous ones.

After sitting for a while and observing the surroundings, I got on my motorcycle and headed down the riverbank. My journey was stopped when I saw two people chit-chatting while standing on the riverbank. I took out my camera and took a picture of them.

That's all for the short story and random pictures I took this afternoon, while enjoying my free time. I hope you enjoy it and please give your feedback if you like. Thank you and see you again on another occasion.
