Discovering Maalat Baywalk of Madredijos Cebu, Philippines | #LakwatsaniIntoy Diary 029
Hello Hiver, Welcome to my #LakwatsaniIntoy Diary 029 | Discovering Maalat Baywalk of Madredijos Cebu, Philippines. I will bring you to another tourist destination you should visit on the island of Bantayan. Let's go !!!
Have you been to Bantayan Island Cebu Philippines? For sure if you have already been to the island you will be amazed by the beaches and beautiful resorts the island has offered. A lot of beautiful places, history, foods and more you will discover. Roaming around the island I think is the best thing to do when you visit.
Last April 15, 2022, when we visited our colleague's hometown, we didn't miss a chance to roam around and learn more about his place. We schedule a day just to go around in different places using his motorbike and one of the places we visited is the MAALAT BAYWALK.
The MAALAT BAYWALK is located in the town of Madridejos in the northern part of the island of Bantayan. This underrated tourist destination is a perfect place to chill and unwind together with your family and friends.
You can relax under the trees by this newly DIY constructed table and chairs that are made of truck tiers where you can set down and look at the wonderful ocean view. The 180 degrees view of the ocean makes your mode calm and relieves the negative thoughts in your mind.
The beach has a white-sand shoreline and a crystal clear ocean. But one problem is the seaweeds that are drifted on the bay that covers almost all of the shoreline that makes you hesitate to dive in. If the local government of the area can control it, I think this Baywalk can be one of the tourist gem destinations on the island. Hoping they made action on this.
In the northern part of the bay, there is a cliff part where you can see the remains structure of an old church that was built during the Spaniards' colonization. On the cliff you will feel the strong breeze of the ocean, so be careful not to go on the tip side. You will also be amazed by the beautiful view on this side and disappointed when you see how those seaweeds destroyed the beautiful view of this place.
There are also mural paintings around where your family can have fun taking pictures by putting your head on the painting and being like a sea creature. Kids will love this place for sure. To those who made this painting, it was beautiful, Good job.
You will also be amazed by the giant ship they build on the bay walk. It was made of bamboo planks where you can go up to the top of it for free. And feel the moment like in Titanic movie and sing "My heart will go on " 😅 kidding. At the top of the ship, you have a greater view of the ocean where you seem to see the edge of it. Sad I didn't document it for you guys.
By the way that was Jack Sparrow beside me I will replace his position as captain for the next episode in the meantime because he still recovering from his last battle with Mira. That was a hard battle in life. I want to Congratulate Jack for winning the battle. (don't take it seriously guys 😅)
If you are hungry when you visit the Maalat Baywalk, you don't have to worry. On the other side of the road, there are restaurants that offer Seafood, barbeques, and other Filipino Cuisine that fill up your stomach. There are also Beers if you want to do a little dose of alcohol.
How to Reach the Maalat Baywalk?
The Maalat Baywalk is located exactly in the Western part of the Municipality of Madridejos. If you have a plan to visit this place, there is no Public vehicle passing by in the area it is advisable to use a Motorcycle or Private vehicle for your convenience. From the Port of Sta. Fe it is 45 minutes away from your travel time. I don't know how much the cost of the Motorcycle rent is cause we use the motorcycle of my colleague at that time.
It is worth it to visit the Maalat Baywalk If you love roaming around and want to know more about the Island of Bantayan this place is perfect for you. It will add up in your discovery about Bantayan Island.
