Cooking Sunday (Biriyani)
Welcome to the Creative-Sunday blog. It's the first time I am joining Creative Sunday. Maybe it's because I am not so creative person otherwise the first step is always harder which can be a reason. My entry on Creative Sunday is about cooking. Generally, Sunday is a working day in our country but today I didn't go to my university and so I decided to cook food named Biriyani. My sister was happy because today she didn't need to cook food. So let's start telling about it.
design by me using canva
Biriyani is a very popular food in our country and most people love to take it & it is my favorite one also. The making procedure is not so difficult also. Before saying about the procedure let me introduce all the ingredients I used here😉.
Ingredients
- Rice
- Carrot
- Potato
- Beef
- Garlic
- Onion
- ginger
- Biriyani masala
- Oil
- Hot water
- bay leaf
- cinnamon
- cardamom
- coriander leaves
- Bata chili
- Ginger batter
- garlic batter
- Cucumber
- Lemon
Cooking Process
Let's start the procedure At the beginning I washed the rice and kept it aside. it's the thing which is the first requirement. I used the rice which was available in my house. Some people different kinds of rice because they think that those kinds of rice can make the item more tasty but It was my sudden plan and I didn't do it.
I cut down 3/4 potatoes, 2 carrots, and the ginger into small pieces. I washed all of those with fresh water and keep them aside for later. At the same time, I cut some coriander leaves for it.
Then I start to cut the onion is very little pieces and to be honest I love to do it but the bad thing is it makes me cry because of the gas released from the onion. Whatever I can't do anything in this case and it's natural. After that, I cut down garlic into very small pieces.
I took a big clean pot for cooking and I added a little oil there according to my need. When the oil started to get hot I added the onion, garlic, and bay leaf which I cut down earlier into small pieces.
Crossing some time I added beef, ginger, and Biryani masala, and with that, I added also ginger batter, garlic batter, cinnamon, Bata chili, and cardamom to make the biriyani more tasty whereas some people only use biryani masala for it.
I added those small pieces of potatoes and carrots which was done earlier there. I kept those things there approximately for 10-15 minutes. I added a little hot water to make it faster.
Then I added the rice and coriander leaves at the same time and mix with other ingredients which was in the pot from earlier. And after that, I added more boil water there.
Finally, the biriyani was ready and the cooking step is fully complete. I was confident that it would be tasty by the smell.
Decoration
At last, I took biriyani on my plate and I took cucumber, a piece of lemon, and onion because those gave me the best taste of biriyani.
The taste of it was indeed great and I am satisfied with the taste. There are some more biriyani remains in the pot and I have plan to take it at dinner time.
By the way, if you want to taste it, you are also invited but remember that come before dinner time🤣🤣
All the pictures I used here are my own or stated there.

First of all, I can tell you're a great cook from the amazing look of how it turned out. Well done Chef!
Secondly, I've never seen a pot like that. It looks so shiny and expensive. I guess you cooked for the whole house with that large quantity😅.
From the steps, cooking Biriyani is almost similar to cooking Jollof rice actually. I think the difference is the biriyani and other native ingredients involved.
I would have loved to see what Biriyani masala and cardamom look like because it's my first time of hearing it. I hope you enjoy your dinner, would have loved to join.
Thanks for sharing your recipe with us. I might try it!
Expensive but not too much also😅.
Yes. I cooked for my whole family. I do it in rare case because most of the time my mother or sister do the task but today I made it🙂.
Biriyani masala finished. But I have a picture of the packet. It's like power means the mix with different ingredients which I used here also.
What? you don't know what is cardamom😅😅. it's always available in kitchen but now I am lying on bed and feeling lazy otherwise I could share a picture but capturing it. Wait I am sharing one from Google search.
Awwnn😅😅 Thanks for sharing the pictures. I haven't seen the cardamom before 😅 I guess we don't use it to cook over here. Next time I go to the market, I'll keep my eyes out for it.
And the Biriyani masala, I was thinking it was some sort of tomato and onion mix. Thanks for clearing it up.
Also, I'm just finding out that Sunday is a working day in your country, I never knew that, wow.
Regardless of that, Happy Sunday🤗
In our country, it's very popular and most of us use it for many items and that's the reason I was surprised to hear that you don't know what is it. It seems it's not so popular in your area. I can understand.
Happy Sunday.
I love biryani and I am very fond of biryani and you have made biryani very well
There is a difference between biryani and pulao both are made in the same way but the end is slightly different as you put the rice in the same curry at the end that is your pulao For biryani the rice is boiled in a separate pot. And curry is also made separately. And after that, in a separate vessel, rice and curry are prepared. And after that add some biryani color and after that close the pot @intishar
Biryani is your favorite also!!!? Then come here and enjoy biryani with me at dinner time. I hope you are not so far from here. I guess you are from India or Pakistan. Am I right?
To be honest I never cooked Pulao and so I can't say that the procedure is fully the same.

Beryani is one of the best and most edible dish in Pakistan. Your step by step guideline helped me to improve cooking of Beryani. I shall add some steps in my next attempt for cooking Beryani.
It's easy but if you go to make it for the first time then I recommend you to take instructions from your mother's or sister. It will help you to understand how much ingredients you need there. You can share your cooking here. 🙂
This is lovely. I like the outlook. Which country is yours?
I am from Bangladesh, what about yours??
Nigeria. A few weeks ago, we received a team on Islamic Dawal in my area. They came from Bangladesh.

I never heard about it but It's looking similar from the outside appearance but it's not the one which one I made.
I cook rarely and I think I have many things to improve. And the biryani was indeed delicious.

Biriyani seems like a delicious meal, thanks for sharing your recipe.
I am not an expert but I can make food but I cook food in rare cases. In fact most of the time I don't need to cook food because my mother and sister are the owner of the kitchen🤣.
Yes, It is indeed a delicious one and it's my favourite also.
Your sister is so lucky for having such a good chef brother🤩. Biryani is also one of the popular dishes in Pakistan and also mine favourite. I wish I will get two plates of biryani from this big pot 😂🤦. Enjoy eating it in dinner also.
