A day trip to Hämeenlinna
Hämeenlinna is the nearest big city to Tampere but I have to admit, I haven't been there that often although the train there takes only about 40 minutes.
Hämeenlinna is perhaps most known for its castle which is in its name too, linna = castle and there's also an art museum very near the railway station which both I've visited before, so this time I wanted to concentrate on other places. Other stuff.
Like butterflies, rainbows and unicorns. Well perhaps not unicorns, I lied a little but about butterflies and rainbows I didn't. Oh okay, not rainbows but rainbow coloured umbrellas. Only a tiny lie there.
Then again why photograph art or castles when you can photograph the railway station roof. Should have taken this black and white. Too lazy to fiddle with it anymore. It is what it is.
Besides butterflies are awesome. You should always take a picture of the butterflies you see because one day there aren't any. "Where have all the butterflies gone" you might wonder as the world is scorching and polluted and dying and screaming for help and perhaps thinking about killing all mankind or is that what the earth is actually doing, killing us, just so slowly that we can't see it until it's too late!
Wow. That escalated quickly.
So take a picture. Of every butterfly you see. Sadly it'll probably last longer than the real butterflies species on earth.
Butterfly. Do not see any butter or a fly here. Should be beautyfly. No, beautywing.
Here's more rainbow coloured umbrellas at the place we had a bite to eat.
What an awesome idea. A statement that looks really fancy.
Bus stop art. No entry fee. The sign on the bus stop says: "No attaching notifications". Perhaps they should have added: "No writing notifications and personal ads. We also do not want to know if you've been here."

A scale model of the factory area where I spent most of the day in Hämeenlinna. Why? Because of the flea markets they have there.

I know! The umbrellas were truly a clever thing and really beautiful. Yes, it is a restaurant by a lake in a small harbor.

Those beautyflieswings are so precious.You captured them so well. Whenever I've tried to photograph a butterfly they flutter by too quickly and go out of shot.
I'd have loved to have seen the unicorn. Ah well, I can live with butterflies and rainbows. 🤗
I don't know if it was the warm weather of the August or what but I managed to get really close with my phone to take the photos, it was like the beautiful creatures were showing of their amazing wings. Usually it's like you said, flutter flutter and off they go and me looking at blurry spots of some buttery flies.
I promise that some day I will catch a unicorn and show all the Hivers my excellently vague and blurry shots of that magical creature!

The umbrellas are nice. It's funny we have the same ones on a street in my home town. They are on trend.
I've seen umbrellas hanged like that as an art work in my home town too so I do think it's a trend. Quite cool, doesn't cover you from rain that much but does perhaps offer a little shade when the umbrellas are that low. The colors certainly are quite lively.
I was disappointed by the ramble that followed. Then I saw butterflies and rainbows, and my spirits lifted. Why you gotta play with my emotions like that?

Life is, ups and downs, downs and ups. I rarely have any say what my fingers or what my brain decides to write so let's all blame my brain. I'm sorry for the uplifting part, I wanted to be all down but hey, butterflies. You just can't be all down if you see butterflies.
LOL its a good surprise. Sometimes the positivity shines through. We cant be all slugs and lettuce. unless you like that sort of thing, then I'm sorry i even brought it up!
Although hyperactivity is sometimes fine but slugging is always awesome. Until it isn't. Perhaps I like both. And the lettuce thing too. :)
