Growing of fluted pumpkin to look fresh
Greetings great writers of #Homesteading, it's a new day and I hope everyone is having a nice day today.
I am going to write on how I managed to grow fluted pumpkin in my new garden.
Growing of fluted pumpkin in Nigeria is very beneficial as you can raise income from selling the harvested ones no matter how small your garden is.
For me the best season to grow fluted pumpkin is dry season because it will not be affected by too much rain, growing it in raining season will cost you a lot in the sense that some of will be washed away by erosion when there's heavy rain but in dry season you will not lose any.
I didn't want this season to pass me by so I decided to look for a space in my uncles backyard where I can grow fluted pumpkin, after securing the space, the first thing I did was to water the ground to soften the ground for easy tilling of ground as we are in dry season.
I watered the ground for like 7 days when I saw that the ground is a little bit soft, I then till the ground, before now I have already added an organic manure which have decomposed within the 7days I was watering the ground.
Now after tilling the ground I then plant the fluted pumpkin and I was watering it morning and evening time daily, while watering the fluted pumpkin I use to mix a pesticide in the water to prevent pest from eating up the fluted pumpkin and of course for it not to change colour and I can tell you that the results for the effort I put was positive within a month I started this journey it was as if It was a magic because of how fresh and good looking the fluted pumpkin is as you can see in the pictures.
