Hive Open Mic Week 159 - Suara Jiwa (Original Song) by Indonesia Bersatu
Hello brothers and sisters, We are IndonesiaBersatu, a Punk Rock band from Medan, Indonesia. So, the weekly #openmic event has now entered week 159 with the theme A Good Friend. This theme was chosen by our spotlight artist @jesus-son. This is an interesting theme, so we brought an original song called Suara Jiwa in English Soul Voice. This song was written by our vocalist Opan Gobank in 2010. However, this song was not included in the album and was remade in 2019 as a solo project single by our vocalist.
By the way, we wish everyone a happy Eid al-Fitr. At the end of this month, the weather often changes from hot to rainy, which makes me have a cold and cough. So I apologize for not being at my best in singing due to my poor health condition. Since it's still Eid season, our drummer and vocalist couldn't be present because they were on Eid and went to stay in touch with their families. So we only play together in this music video. We only used a makeshift acoustic guitar to play this song.
Speaking of this week's theme, I think this week's theme is very good. This week's theme explains friendship. If there is a question, what does a good friend look like? Of course, everyone has their answer about what a good friend looks like. It depends on one's experience when making friends. For me, a good friend will speak honestly with what they say to us. They choose to speak honestly with good intentions rather than gossiping behind our backs. Besides being honest, they are also trustworthy. Usually, good friends have been friends with us for a long time, so good friends will go through events both joy and sorrow with us. They will not only be a support system during difficult times but also celebrate our successes.
This song written by our vocalist is the voice of the soul he feels towards friendship. The lyrics he wrote are purely from what he experienced with us and also other friends. choosing good friends is not something difficult. However, maintaining a friendship for a long time is certainly a challenge. Don't just expect your friends to treat you well, but also do the opposite, both to friends and others.
