Hello, this week it's my turn to write for the Fantastic777 event and when I saw that you all shared the places you visited, I was a bit jealous because I'm in the village right now and there are not many places I can visit and introduce to you. So instead I'm going to share with you my favorite sport that I've been doing for a long time.

It might be a surprise for you, but my favorite is table tennis. I know I haven't shared any posts about it before, in fact, in one of my posts I mentioned that I play table tennis with @ezgicop, but other than that I don't have any posts. I started playing table tennis for the first time in high school because when I was in elementary school only teachers played table tennis and we weren't allowed to play, how ridiculous when you think about it 😝

When I went to high school, my friends and I were playing soccer all the time, but it's not something you can do for hours because everyone wants to play soccer and the school garden is not big enough. One day I went down to the canteen and I saw some people playing table tennis, two people from the school team and they were playing really impressively. There is a video that went viral in Turkey, where a boy talks about his love for boats and he says "the engine makes the waves foam, you can't understand it" and starts crying. At that moment, the sound of the table tennis ball was impressive for me and I started to watch it. After school was over, I went there and asked if I could play with them. I did, but in a word, they ruined me. In table tennis, if you go down 7-0 against someone, the game is over and that's what I experienced haha. I was constantly losing and not getting a single point but I didn't give up.

Another friend of mine got interested in table tennis with me and we each bought a table tennis racket and started playing. Sometimes we played table tennis 3-4 hours a day, but you can't improve yourself just by playing amongst yourself. My friend and I spent hours together watching the kids from the school team play, because your technique of hitting the ball, how you turn your wrist, and the spin you give to the ball are very important. We learned all these by watching and we got better and better.

As time passed, I got better than my friend because I was spending more time and practicing more. I was good enough to play with the kids on the school team and eventually I joined the school team. We came 3rd in the inter-high school table tennis tournament in my district and the two high schools that were better than us were high schools that worked with private sports coaches and this is normal. I managed to come 3rd in my city as well. I continued to play for the school team until I finished high school. I have photos from those days but I don't want to share them because I look really funny 😂

Then I went to university and I stayed away from table tennis because of classes. I didn't play at all for 6-7 months. When I was in the prep class, I was staying in the dormitory. I found out that there was going to be a table tennis tournament, I didn't think I could win, but I still wanted to try my luck. I even went to the tournament in my slippers XD There were some very good players, but I beat them and came first in the dormitory tournament. It was very strange that there was no prize, and they didn't let me into the dormitory team. They took the second place boy to tournaments instead of me, but they didn't achieve anything 🤣 Would things have been different if it had been me? We will never know the answer to that question.

Merhabalar, bu hafta Fantastic777 etkinliği için yazma sırası bende ve hepinizin gezdiği yerleri paylaştığını görünce açıkçası biraz kıskandım çünkü ben şu anda köydeyim ve gezmeye gidip sizlere tanıtabileceğim çok fazla yer yok. Bunun yerine ben de sizlerle uzun zamandır yaptığım ve en sevdiğim spor dalını paylaşacağım.

Sizin için sürpriz olabilir ama benim favorim masa tenisi. Biliyorum daha önce bunun hakkında hiç post paylaşmadım, aslında postlarımın bir tanesinde @ezgicop'le masa tenisi oynadığımızı söylemiştim ama onun dışında paylaşımım yok. Masa tenisini ilk defa lisede oynamaya başladım çünkü ilkokuldayken masa tenisini sadece öğretmenler oynuyordu ve bize izin vermiyorlardı, düşününce ne kadar saçma 😝

Liseye geçtiğimde arkadaşlarımla sürekli futbol oynuyorduk ama bu sizin saatlerce yapabileceğiniz bir şey değil çünkü herkes futbol oynamak istiyor ve okulun bahçesi yeterince büyük değil. Bir gün kantine indiğimde orada birkaç kişinin masa tenisi oynadığını gördüm. Okul takımından iki kişiydi ve gerçekten etkileyici oynuyorlardı. Türkiye'de viral olan bir video var, bir çocuk tekneye olan sevgisini anlatıyor ve "motorun yaptığı dalga köpürtmesi, anlayamazsınız" diyip ağlamaya başlıyor. Benim için de o an masa tenisi topunun çıkardığı ses etkileyiciydi ve izlemeye başladım. Okul bittikten sonra da oraya gittim ve onlarla oynayıp oynayamayacağımı sordum. Oynadım ama tek kelimeyle beni mahvettiler. Masa tenisinde birine karşı 7-0 geriye düşerseniz oyun biter ve benim yaşadığım şey buydu haha. Sürekli olarak kaybediyordum ve tek bir sayı bile alamıyordum ancak vazgeçmedim.

Benimle birlikte bir arkadaşım daha masa tenisine ilgi duydu ve ikimiz de birer tane masa tenisi raketi alıp oynamaya başladık. Bazen günde 3-4 saat masa tenisi oynuyorduk ama sadece kendi aranızda oynayarak kendinizi geliştiremezsiniz. Ben ve arkadaşım birlikte okul takımındaki çocukların oynayışını saatlerce izledik. Çünkü topa vuruş tekniğiniz, bileğinizi nasıl çevirdiğiniz, topa verdiğiniz falso çok önemli. Bunların hepsini izleyerek öğrendik ve gittikçe daha iyi olduk.

Zaman geçtikçe ben arkadaşımdan daha iyi oldum çünkü daha çok zaman harcıyordum ve daha çok pratik yapıyordum. Okul takımındaki çocuklarla oynayabilecek kadar iyiydim ve sonunda ben de okul takımına girdim. Bulunduğum ilçede liseler arası masa tenisi turnuvasında 3. olduk ve bizden daha iyi olan iki lise özel spor hocalarıyla çalışan liselerdi ve bu gayet normal. Bulunduğum şehirde de 3. olmayı başardım. Lise bitene kadar okul takımında oynamaya devam ettim. O günlere ait fotoğraflarım var ama gerçekten komik göründüğüm için paylaşmak istemiyorum 😂

Daha sonra üniversiteye geçtim ve masa tenisinden dersler yüzünden uzak kaldım. 6-7 ay boyunca hiç oynamadım. Hazırlık sınıfındayken yurtta kalıyordum. Masa tenisi turnuvası olacağını öğrendim, kazanabileceğimi düşünmüyordum ama yine de şansımı denemek istedim. Hatta turnuvaya terliklerimle gittim XD Çok iyi oynayan oyuncular vardı ama onları da yenip yurt turnuvasında birinci oldum. Hiçbir ödül olmaması çok garipti üstelik beni yurt takımına da almadılar. İkinci olan çocuğu benim yerime turnuvalara götürdüler ama hiçbir başarı elde edemediler 🤣 Ben olsaydım her şey farklı mı olurdu? Bu sorunun cevabını asla bilemeyeceğiz.
