Hello my friends! I told you that I didn't feel ready for the new year, now I feel ready. I received some great gifts, for which I am grateful to my friends, but I will talk about that in my next posts. Today our topic is the Ephesus Museum again. I still have so much to share with you in this wonderful museum. I have to make sure you see it all :)

It's a pity that I can't read the inscription under this statue, but luckily I remember who it belongs to, an anonymous person, a warrior at rest. Maybe he is not an ordinary warrior, but still, if he was someone very important, his name would be written, right? I have to congratulate them for giving so much importance even to the statue of this nameless hero. They have done a great job.

One of the most beautiful things about the museum is that it is not just an indoor building, there are also wonderful artifacts exhibited outdoors. This is one of them. This is the feet of a Kore statue. Does it belong to a Korean? No, Kore is the name given to standing statues of young women in ancient Greek sculpture. I'm learning something too, huh, @bemier? Too bad only the feet were recovered, but they might never have been found.

This is a Kuros, a statue of a naked man. I wonder who came up with these names. Are they random or are they named after the person who invented them, like inventions. Anyway, this statue looks very worn. It looks like it's 1000 years old, I'm kidding, in reality it's 2600 years old, so it's natural that it's worn out, it's a miracle that the other statues were taken out unharmed. What do you think?

This statue looks a bit complicated, doesn't it? Something feels wrong, but I don't know. Maybe it feels strange that the statue doesn't have a head. But the hand on her chest, the piece on her lap? I don't know, by the way, it's a statue of Hera Campana, made of marble and dating from the 2nd century AD.

Another headless statue, in one of the museums I visited they were talking about headless statues and it was written that this was a trend, but I think these are not one of them because they look really broken. This statue doesn't have an arm either, it's probably broken too. It's very sad that this elegance is not here in its entirety.

This is an ordinary statue of a man, I can believe that this one has no hands because it looks like it was not made. Although this one seems to have a finger on its right hand. I think it's better to look at them and enjoy them rather than worry about all these things 😂.

This is an altar. It's made of marble. I can't imagine how difficult it is to present it XD The reliefs on it are very beautiful and there are inscriptions. I would love to read them. How did people pray to their gods 2000 years ago or what did they ask for?

Roman sarcophagus with Amazon. I've seen a lot of sarcophagi before but I've never seen one with so many human figures on it. If I were @livinguktaiwan, I might ask how many Amazons are in this photo in the Power Up Day guessing contest. It's sure to be fun but even I don't know the right answer so how will I choose the winner? 🤣

This is a Byzantine column header, I apologize for the darkness but this was the best I could do. It was sunny so this thing was very dark. Still, if you look carefully you can see how beautiful it looks.

This is a Roman inscription, can anyone read what it says? If yes, you could be very rich. I don't think there are many of you in the world. Wait a second, it could be just Greek and there could be millions of people reading it. I'm sorry if you are disappointed.

It's a great funerary stele, imagine a grave with this on it, how would you feel? You can see a statue of the person inside the tomb that looks very much like him. It would be a strange feeling. But that doesn't change the fact that it's a wonderful piece of workmanship.

Another beautiful grave stele, probably belonging to a family. A question for you! Do you think the little people on this stele represent the children of this family or their youth? I think it represents their children. Even the details of the man's sandal have been thought out and it's a very respectable work.

Here are a lot of historical artifacts, did you catch the detail in the photo? I have no idea how that cat got in here but I hope he paid for it :P The museum was quite crowded which made me happy. Moreover, there were a lot of Turks visiting the museum this time. I hope the interest of our people will always continue.

Two more very beautiful sarcophagi, one with Eros and the other with Muses. They are very magnificent and elegant at the same time. Each side has a different detail. One more question for you, why are there different gods on these sarcophagi? Do they engrave the favorite god of the deceased on the sarcophagus? I know it's an interesting question, but it came to me while I was visiting the museum.

How many gods can you see in a photograph? There are too many here :D Don't worry, I counted for you and there are exactly 37 gods in this relief. Unfortunately we don't know which ones. Maybe their names were written in the erased writings underneath, but unfortunately they are not even visible. Even if it was visible, I couldn't read it and tell you.

This sundial was right in the center of the open space. I went to the museum with my aunts and this attracted their attention the most. They asked how it worked and how people could tell the time by looking at it. I told them about it and they thought it was very strange that people years ago thought about time and gave it such importance. In some documentaries old people look very stupid, but if they hadn't always been thinking, if they hadn't always been interested in inventing, humanity wouldn't be where it is today.

Merhaba dostlarım! Yeni yıla pek hazır hissetmediğimi söylemiştim, artık hazır hissediyorum. Mükemmel hediyeler aldım, bunun için arkadaşlarıma minnettarım ancak bundan sonraki postlarımda bahsedeceğim. Bugün konumuz tekrar Efes Müzesi. Bu harika müzede sizinle paylaşmam gereken hala çok fazla şey var. Hepsini gördüğünüzden emin olmalıyım :)

Bu heykelin altında yazan yazının ne olduğunu okuyamam çok üzücü, neyse ki kime ait olduğunu hatırlıyorum. İsimsiz biri, dinlenen bir savaşçı. Belki sıradan bir savaşçı değildir ama yine de çok önemli biri olsa adı yazardı, değil mi? Bu isimsiz kahramanın heykeline bile bu kadar önem verdikleri için onları tebrik etmem gerekiyor. Harika iş çıkarmışlar.

Müzenin en güzel yanlarından biri de sadece kapalı bir bina olmaması, açık havada sergilenen harika eserler de var. Bu onlardan bir tanesi. Bu gördüğünüz bir Kore heykelinin ayakları. Koreli birine mi ait? Hayır, Kore Eski yunan heykelciliğinde ayakta duran genç kadın heykellerine verilen isim. Ben de bir şeyler öğreniyorum ha @bemier? Sadece ayaklarının kurtarılabilmiş olması çok kötü ama hiç bulunamayabilirdi de.

Bu da bir Kuros, çıplak erkek heykellerine verilen isim. Bu isimleri kim buldu çok merak ediyorum. Rastgele mi koyuldu yoksa icatlar gibi, onu bulan kişinin adıyla mı anılıyor. Her neyse, bu heykel çok yıpranmış görünüyor. Sanki 1000 yıllık gibi, şaka yapıyorum gerçekte 2600 yıllık falan bu yüzden yıpranması gayet doğal diğer heykellerin zarar görmeden çıkarılabilmiş olması mucize. Siz ne düşünüyorsunuz?

Bu sıradan bir erkek heykeli, bunun ellerinin olmadığına inanabilirim çünkü yapılmamış gibi görünüyor. Gerçi bunun da sağ elinin bir parmağı varmış gibi. Bütün bu şeylere kafa yormaktansa onlara bakıp tadını çıkarmak daha doğru sanırım 😂

Bu bir sunak. Mermerden yapılmış. Bunu sunmanın ne kadar zor olduğunu tahmin edemiyorum XD Üzerindeki kabartmalar çok güzel ve yazılar da var. Onları okumayı çok isterdim. 2000 yıl önce insanlar tanrılarına nasıl dua ediyorlardı veya onlardan ne diliyorlardı acaba?

Roma dönemine ait Amazon'lu Lahit. Daha önce çok fazla lahit gördüm ama üzerinde bu kadar çok insan figürü olanı görmemiştim. @livinguktaiwan'ın yerinde olsaydım bu fotoğrafta kaç tane Amazon olduğunu Power Up Day tahmin yarışmasında sorabilirdim. Eğlenceli olacağı kesin ama ben bile doğru cevabı bilmiyorum öyleyse kazananı nasıl seçeceğim? 🤣

Bu bir Bizans sütun başlığı, karanlık çıktığı için özür dilerim ancak bu yapabildiğimin en iyisiydi. Hava güneşli olduğu için bu şey çok karanlıkta kalıyordu. Yine de dikkatli bakarsanız ne kadar güzel göründüğünü görürsünüz.

Bu Roma dönemine ait bir kitabe, ne yazdığını okuyabilen biri var mı? Cevabınız evetse, çok zengin olabilirsiniz. Dünyada sizden çok fazla olduğunu zannetmiyorum. Bir saniye bekleyin, bu sadece yunanca bile olabilir ve belki de bunu okuyan milyonlar vardır. Hayal kırıklığı yaşadıysanız üzgünüm.

Harika bir mezar steli, bir mezarın üstünde bundan olduğunu düşünün, nasıl hissederdiniz? Mezarın içindeki kişinin ona çok benzeyen bir heykelini görebiliyorsunuz. Garip bir his olurdu. Yine de bu ne kadar harika bir işçilik olduğu gerçeğini değiştirmez.

Güzel bir mezar steli daha, muhtemelen bir aileye ait. Size bir soru! Sizce bu steldeki o küçük insanlar bu ailenin çocuklarını mı yoksa onların gençliklerini mi simgeliyor? Bence çocuklarını simgeliyor. Erkeğin sandaletinin detayları bile düşünülmüş ve ortaya saygı duyulası bir iş çıkmış.

İşte bir sürü tarihi eser, fotoğraftaki detayı yakaladınız mı? O kedi buraya nasıl girdi hiçbir fikrim yok ama umarım ücretini ödemiştir :P Müze oldukça kalabalıktı ki bu beni mutlu etti. Üstelik bu sefer müzeyi ziyaret eden çok fazla Türk de vardı. Umarım halkımızın ilgisi hep devam eder.

İki çok güzel lahit daha, bunlardan bir tanesi Eros'lu diğeri ise Müz'lü lahit. Çok görkemliler ve aynı zamanda zarifler de. Her yanlarında farklı bir detay var. Size bir soru daha? Bu lahitlerin üzerinde neden farklı farklı tanrılar var? Lahde ölen kişinin favori tanrısını mı işliyorlar? İlginç bir soru olduğunu biliyorum ama müzeyi gezerken birden aklıma geldi.

Bir fotoğrafta kaç tane tanrı görebilirsiniz? İşte burada çok fazla var :D Merak etmeyin sizin için saydım ve bu kabartmada tam 37 tanrı var. Ne yazık ki hangileri olduğunu bilmiyoruz. Altında silinmiş yazılarda belki de isimleri yazıyordu ancak maalesef görünmüyor bile. Gerçi görünse de ben okuyup size söyleyemezdim.

Bu güneş saati açık alanın tam ortasındaydı. Müzeye halamlarla gitmiştim ve en çok bu onların dikkatini çekti. Bunun nasıl çalıştığını ve insanların buna bakarak zamanı nasıl anladıklarını sordular. Ben de onlara anlattım. İnsanların yıllar öncesinde zamanı düşünüp ona böyle önem vermeleri onlara çok garip geldi. Bazı belgesellerde eski insanlar çok aptal görünüyor ama onlar hep düşünmeselerdi, icat etmeye meraklı olmasalardı insanlık bugün bu noktaya gelemezdi.
