Hello all, I have not been able to post for a few days because first I was busy and then I had no electricity and internet connection. I realized how dependent we are on these two things when we don't have internet and electricity and I think I can share posts about it in the coming days. But that's not today's topic. Today's topic is a nice evening with my girlfriend.

The power went out at 11am on Monday morning and didn't come back on until 6pm. After the power came back on, I still didn't have internet connection and every time I called customer service they kept saying it would be back in a few hours, so my girlfriend and I decided to go out and have a nice dessert.

We took a walk and looked at a few restaurants and decided to go to Özikizler Künefe. Normally my favorite dessert is kadayif, but künefe is something I can never resist lately. I am sure you will never regret it, especially if you eat it in a good restaurant. A restaurant with künefe in its name also sounds like a good option.


The outside of the restaurant looks very nice but I forgot to take a picture of it. The atmosphere inside is also very nice, the lighting is well thought out and the tables are not close to each other. This is really important because in some restaurants the tables are very cramped and you can't even sit comfortably in your chair because of the person behind you. Luckily it wasn't too crowded when we were there.


When a restaurant is crowded, it decreases the attention you receive. Sometimes they take your order late, sometimes they bring it late, sometimes they bring it wrong etc. I don't like this at all. I took some photos while we were waiting for our künefe. I wrote something about showing you my hair after I went to the barber. I forgot about it afterwards, but here I am!

Before the künefe, they brought apples, oranges and carrots. Just before the künefe, they brought milk. This is because the künefe is very sweet and the milk balances it out. Whoever thought of it thought it well. If you are ever in Turkey and they bring milk before dessert, know that this is why.


And this is the masterpiece we've been waiting for. Künefe! The type we ordered is called half wicker and half special. When you look at it, it looks like two different types. The cream inside the pistachio kernels on top, I have to say I'm hungry just looking at it now.


This is what it looks like up close. I must say, it's much tastier than it looks. I apologize if I've made you hungry, but I must point that out 😅.


While we were eating our künefe, I remembered that Fenerbahçe was also playing that day and we started watching the match. As a Galatasaray fan, Fenerbahçe's matches are now of interest to me because we lost points in the match we played this week and I wanted them to win too. Whenever my girlfriend wants to influence a match, she says that the match is very boring and she wants excitement. While we were eating our künefe, FB was leading 2-0 but we stopped watching the game and on the way home we found out that Fenerbahçe had drawn 3-3. So our totem worked. If Galatasaray becomes champion, FB fans will not forget this match.

Hepinize merhaba, birkaç gündür post paylaşamadım çünkü önce yoğundum sonra da elektrik ve internet bağlantım yoktu. İnternet ve elektrik yokken bu iki şeye ne kadar bağımlı olduğumuzu fark ettim ve sanırım ilerleyen günlerde bununla ilgili yazılar paylaşabilirim. Ama bugünün konusu bu değil. Bugünün konusu kız arkadaşımla geçirdiğim güzel bir akşam.

Pazartesi sabahı 11'de elektrikler kesildi ve akşam 6'ya kadar elektrikler gelmedi. Elektrikler geldikten sonra internet bağlantım hala yoktu ve ne zaman müşteri hizmetlerini arasam birkaç saat içinde geleceğini söyleyerek geçiştirdiler ve biz de kız arkadaşımla dışarı çıkmaya ve güzel bir tatlı yemeye karar verdik.

Hem yürüyüş yaptık hem de birkaç tane restorana baktık ve Özikizler Künefe'ye gitmeye karar verdik. Normalde benim en sevdiğim tatlı kadayıftır ama künefe de son zamanlarda asla karşı koyamadığım bir şey. Özellikle iyi bir restoranda yerseniz asla pişman olmayacağınıza eminim. Adında künefe geçen bir restoran da kulağa iyi bir seçenek gibi geliyor.


Restoranın dışı çok güzel görünüyor ama onun fotoğrafını çekmeyi unuttum. İçerinin ortamı da çok güzel, ışıklandırmalar iyi düşünülmüş ve masalar birbirine yakın değil. Bu gerçekten önemli bir konu çünkü bazı restoranlarda masalar çok sıkışık ve arkanızdaki kişi yüzünden sandalyenize bile rahat oturamıyorsunuz. Şanslıyız ki biz gittiğimizde çok kalabalık değildi.


Bir restoranın kalabalık olması haliyle size gösterilen ilgiyi azaltıyor. Bazen siparişinizi geç alıyorlar, bazen geç getiriyorlar yanlış getiriyorlar vs. Ben bunun olmasını hiç sevmiyorum. Künefemizi beklerken birkaç fotoğraf çektim. Berbere gittikten sonra size saçlarımı göstereceğime dair bir şeyler yazmıştım. Sonrasında bunu unuttum ama işte buradayım!

Künefe gelmeden önce elma, portakal ve havuç getirdiler. Künefeden hemen önce de süt getirdiler. Bunun sebebi künefenin çok tatlı olması ve süt bunu dengeliyor. Kim düşündüyse bunu iyi düşünmüş. Olur da yolunuz Türkiye'ye düşerse ve tatlıdan önce süt getirirlerse, bilin ki sebebi budur.


Ve işte beklediğimiz bu şaheser. Künefe! Bu sipariş ettiğimiz türün adı yarı hasır ve yarı özel. Zaten baktığınızda iki farklı türmüş gibi görünüyor. Üzerindeki antep fıstığı taneleri içindeki kaymak, şimdi bakınca bile acıktığımı söylemeliyim.


Yakından da böyle görünüyor. Göründüğünden çok daha lezzetli olduğunu söylemeliyim. Sizi acıktırdıysam çok özür dilerim ama bunu belirtmeliyim 😅.


Künefemizi yerken o gün Fenerbahçe'nin de maçı olduğu aklıma geldi ve maçı izlemeye başladık. Bir Galatasaray taraftarı olarak Fenerbahçe'nin maçları da artık beni ilgilendiriyor çünkü biz bu hafta oynadığımız maçta puan kaybettik ve onların da etmesini istiyordum. Kız arkadaşım ne zaman bir maça etki etmek istese o maçın çok sıkıcı olduğunu ve heyecan istediğini söyler. Bu maçta da aynı totemi uyguladık. Künefemizi yerken FB 2-0 öndeydi ama biz maçı izlemeyi bıraktık ve eve dönerken Fenerbahçe'nin 3-3 berabere kaldığını öğrendik. Yani totemimiz işe yaradı. Galatasaray şampiyon olursa FB taraftarı bu maçı unutmayacaktır.
