A Hard Start - This War of Mine

avatar

Hello my friends, how are you? I shared a play with you a long time ago, maybe some of you will remember it. It's a game about how not every human being is a soldier in war, and that civilians are also affected and affected very badly. It's not a great game in terms of graphics, but it's an incredible game in terms of atmosphere. I'm talking about This War of Mine. You can find the post I shared about this game 1.5 years ago here. Everything has changed since then, including my writing style XD I will share the first chapter with you today and if everyone likes it, I want to make it a Let's Play series.

Day 1

I will try to explain the game to you as much as possible. On the first day we have to check the stats of our characters and explore our shelter.

I will try to explain the game to you as much as possible. On the first day we have to check the stats of our characters and explore our shelter. In my shelter we have Bruno, Roman and Arica. Bruno is a good cook, which means he will cook the food using less water, Roman is a good fighter, which will be very useful when we have to kill someone, and Arica is very quiet, which makes her the best option when stealing or exploring. On the first day we have to collect all the items we can find in our house. Everything is useful. Worst case we can use it for bartering.

On the first day I made myself a crowbar and a bed because a crowbar is the most basic tool to open locked cabinets and doors. There is a quieter one but it costs more. And the bed is for your characters to sleep at night, otherwise they get tired or sleep badly at night. This causes them to be demoralized. For 3 people, 1 bed is enough.

We need to plan every night. We can stay in the shelter but we can also go out to loot. Of course we can go with only one person. The others sleep or stand guard. I think one person is needed for each job. An important point when going out to loot is the carrying capacity of the looter. The bigger the better. Unfortunately I don't have someone with extra capacity. Everyone has 10 capacities. Today I'm going on a raid with Roman, Arica sleeps in the bed and Bruno stands guard. We're going to the demolished toy store.

I met a woman there and she told me she wasn't hostile, she was just looking for something. I had the same goal. We don't steal from anyone because it's nobody's property, we just loot what we need. I hope I don't have to steal from anyone because if I do, I might have to do it to survive.

Day 2

The first night's loot was one of my best loots in this game. Food, alcohol, jewelry, medicine, bandages, weapon parts and tools. I don't know what could have been better, I found everything, I just couldn't find wood and materials and I can't build, that's all.

When you check your stuff you can see exactly what your characters think about the bunker. They comment on the items found and the shortcomings of the bunker. So you can see that we're not actually the characters in the game, we're managing the whole bunker. They even tell us we're out of cigarettes! Because there are some of them who are addicted to cigarettes.

Other than that, not much else happened on the second day. At night I planned it the same way, Roman will loot, Arica will sleep in bed and Bruno will be on guard. I'll go to the toy store again because there's still a lot of stuff I can collect there. By the way, on this screen you can see how many days ago you went to a place and what percentage you looted. This prevents you from accidentally going to a place that is already empty.

This time she wasn't there, so I focused on what I could use for construction instead of other things: materials and wood. I found some bullets. By the way, I love the atmosphere of the game, it really feels like you're in it. It's like the building is really on fire.

Day 3

They attacked our shelter on day 3! That's not something I see very often. They usually start attacking on day 5 or so. Even though they didn't steal anything, Arica was injured! Damn it! Damn it! I have to reinforce my shelter. If Bruno hadn't stood guard, things could have been much worse.

On day 3 I decided to build an oven, I really need it because I need to start cooking, it's the only way to cook in the game :P The best place is of course next to the fridge. Don't worry people, you won't starve to death!

My favorite person is here! Time to trade with Franko. I hope he brought food, tools and most importantly a lot of materials because I can't fit a lot of them in my backpack when I go to loot.

I made a lot of trades, I gave away all the things that are not urgent for my survival. Jewelry, alcohol, bullets, these things are not important to me in the beginning. In return I got a lot of supplies, food, wood, cigarettes and fuel. Cigarettes are also not urgent for my survival, but something to keep the people in the shelter happy.

With the things I bought, I first built a radio, which is the only place where you can get information about the weather, the general situation in the city and what is going to get expensive, and these are all important things. For example, if crime becomes rampant, we might need to increase the number of guards, or if it gets cold, a stove will suddenly become an urgent need.

Then I decided to improve the workshop, so I can close the gaps in the shelter, which will make it a safer place. Of course, not only that, I will be able to do many different things.

The first thing I did was to close the holes. You can see Roman after I finish this. He looks happy XD

For the 3rd night I had to choose a different place and with the same planning I sent Roman to the Supermarket. When you go somewhere, there is information about what you can find there. In every sense, you can see what you can find, if there is a danger, and I am advised to be careful here. I will follow that.

When I went in there, three thugs were talking, I think they came to loot the place. They told me to be careful, that they wouldn't hurt me and not to make any wrong moves. I made a really excellent loot and it was a great night. Just as I was about to leave the bandits ran out of there. I didn't understand what happened, what they saw or heard and I didn't have much time to think about it. I decided to go back to the shelter.

I will share more days in the next posts. In this post I shared a progress of 3 days because this is the beginning and it is already too long. Thank you very much for reading, I hope you liked it. Take care and have a day full of games my friends!

It does have a good plot my friend, I like it for the way it has to unfold, it literally gets me when something has to do with strategies for survival methods.

Hmmm
This game looks interesting but the part which I don't like about such games is finding those certain things to survive. Lol.

And I wanted to ask where I can get that hivegaming divider?

Check out hivegc discord bro! You can take the divider from there.

But if you try you'll like it

It's always great to see something different from you. To be honest, the first thing that thumbnail picture reminded me of the war of Israel-Gaza (Palestine).

It's great to see you revisiting "This War of Mine". Your details of Day 1 to Day 3 definitely brought back some memories from your previous share. I'm looking forward to more chapters in your Let's Play series as I really liked the idea. @tipu curate 5

Thanks a lot for your support man, I'm actually trying to bring as much different content as possible, but I'm really stuck on TFT. I think it's a good idea to make this game a Let's Play series, I hope to share the second part in a few days.
