Apocalypsi part two - an incredibly vivid dream

Nadnerb hustled past the other humans standing in the stairwell, a feeling of unease and disappointment with veins of confusion and self-certainty settling deep in their stomach.

Upon exiting, they saw their white pickup truck, and a crowd gathered nearby looking out at the view. Nadnerb turned to take in the view, and got a hefty shock.

The unease of their interaction with ZhaZzh wash away at the sight. Immediately, all they desired was to greaten their friendship, to reconnect - to find the commonality. The sight which greeted their eyes was not the Grand Canyon, or rather, it was, but it had become a grand river. Filled half way with water, which it had not been when they'd gone below earlier in the evening. A great blue whale leaped from the surface, spun and crashed back into the ocean water that must have rushed into the canyon while they'd been in the club cum coffeeshop.

All the gathered knew that this was a terrible thing, but when they examined the apocalypse alarm, nothing was ringing. The earthquake bell was silent, the megastorm klagon was quiet, there was no indication that the mutation cloud line had slackened. As they examined it another human noticed that one wire whose purpose was unknown was slack and seemed to need tightening. They tightened it, and

The earthquake bell rang. The megastorm klagon klanged. The mutation cloud line slackened.
