En lo que parece ser la carretera más desolada del planeta va una familia de tres en un auto, parece ser que es navidad y van hacia la casa de los padres de ella ya que es navidad; en el auto solo van los progenitores más su pequeña hija. El acercamiento al auto nos deja ver qué simplemente el conductor que es el padre, está discutiendo acaloradamente, lo único que entendemos es que él trata de arreglar las cosas, mejorar y poder intentar nuevamente pero su esposa niega que esto suceda así y que no está tratando lo suficiente; él le promete que será diferente y que podrían volver a casa para cenar los tres juntos pero su esposa rompe su silencio y dice que ya están suficientemente rotos.

El esposo sigue prometiendo y diciendo que él puede y que no vayan porque a sus padres siempre les ha caído mal; su esposa aparentemente quiere que vaya más rápido pero él no quiere a pesar que todos los carros le pitan y lo pasan hasta que son interrumpidos por una camioneta negra que le pita muy de cerca y muy fuerte, pierde el camino pero controla y la camioneta negra solo se va.

Su hija se queja de que ya no funcionan los audífonos y su madre trata de ayudarla, aparentemente gracias a eso no había podido escuchar la discusión de sus padres, su madre trata de ver que tiene pero no dan y deducen que pueden ser las pilas, así que le dicen que se calme en casa de los abuelos habrá muy seguramente aunque poco tiempo después la niña dice que no pude aguantar las ganas de miccionar y que no podrá por nada, así que la madre da la orden de parar en la gasolinera más cercana ya que podrían también tener pilas.

Llegan a la gasolinera y la niña se baja con la mamá para el baño pero cada una le pide algo al papá para que le compre, la señora pide una gaseosa mientras que la niña, las pilas. Al entrar pide 2 empaques de baterías doble A, una gaseosa y también 2 botellitas de Jack Daniel's pero cuando va a pagar la cajera le niega la tarjeta porque como evidentemente mencioné y se ve, estamos en el medio de la nada, no hay nada en kilómetros es obvio que no aceptan tarjeta; el verdadero problema es que tiene efectivo limitado el cual no alcanza para todo.

Al llegar al auto, llega con una gaseosa y un "café", así que podemos notar que eligió el dejar las baterías por comprar dos mini botellas de Jack Daniel's escondidas en el café, su esposa le pregunta por las baterías pero responde que no habían, increíble; esto antecede a que a la niña se le perdieron unas cosas y la madre se baja a hacer unas cosas mientras le dice a su esposo que busque en el asiento de atrás a ver si encuentra. Baja a la niña y busca pero derrama por completo una bebida que había atrás, totalmente distraído su niña se acerca a una construcción que está excavada para cementar tratando de acercarse a un globo que vio y de reojo ve a un perrito que también la ve y se acerca a ella poco a poco, esto a la niña no le gusta nada y se va acercando poco a poco al precipicio de esa construcción, su papá se percata y trata de ahuyentarlo pero cuando lo hace su hija pierde el equilibrio y cae; el se lanza igual para tratar de salvarla.

In what seems to be the most desolate road on the planet there is a family of three in a car, it seems to be Christmas and they are going to her parents' house because it is Christmas; in the car only the parents and their little daughter are in the car. The approach to the car lets us see that simply the driver who is the father, is arguing heatedly, the only thing we understand is that he is trying to fix things, improve and try again but his wife denies that this is happening and that he is not trying hard enough; he promises her that it will be different and that they could come home for dinner together but his wife breaks his silence and says that they are already broken enough.

The husband keeps promising and saying that he can and not to go because his parents have always disliked him; his wife apparently wants him to go faster but he doesn't want to even though all the cars honk at him and pass him until they are interrupted by a black pickup truck that honks at him very close and very loud, he loses his way but checks and the black truck just drives off.

Her daughter complains that the headphones no longer work and her mother tries to help her, apparently thanks to that she had not been able to hear the discussion of her parents, her mother tries to see what she has but they do not give and deduce that it may be the batteries, so they tell her to calm down at the grandparents' house there will be very surely although shortly after the girl says she could not stand the urge to urinate and she will not be able to for anything, so the mother gives the order to stop at the nearest gas station as they might also have batteries.

They arrive at the gas station and the girl gets off with the mother to go to the bathroom but each one asks the father to buy something for her, the lady asks for a soda while the girl asks for batteries. When she enters she asks for 2 packs of double A batteries, a soda and also 2 bottles of Jack Daniel's but when she goes to pay the cashier denies her the card because as I evidently mentioned and you can see, we are in the middle of nowhere, there is nothing for miles and it is obvious that they do not accept cards; the real problem is that she has limited cash which is not enough for everything.

When we get to the car, he arrives with a soda and a "coffee", so we can notice that he chose to leave the batteries for buying two mini bottles of Jack Daniel's hidden in the coffee, his wife asks him for the batteries but he responds that there were none, incredible; this precedes that the girl lost some things and the mother gets off to do some things while she tells her husband to look in the back seat to see if he finds. He puts the girl down and searches but spills completely a drink that was in the back, totally distracted his girl approaches a construction that is excavated to cement trying to approach a balloon he saw and out of the corner of his eye he sees a little dog that also sees her and approaches her little by little, the girl does not like this at all and is gradually approaching the precipice of that construction, her father notices and tries to chase him away but when he does his daughter loses her balance and falls; he throws himself to try to save her.
