My Mother My Hero: What have learnt💖💕
There is a saying that "not all heroes wear capes". Growing up we have all had role models at different stages in our lives, some as we grow older our role model changes. My role model has always been my mother. My mom's life style has taught me so many things in life. I will share some of the things I have learnt from my mother with us.
My mother is a very Patient person and I have seen how this has helped her in life. I can remember a time when we had a new neighbor and this lady was always picking on my mother, she insulted my mother but never for once did mom exchange words with her rather she would walk away. I remember this particular day she got physical with mom but my mom just left with saying anything, I was angry and wanted to hit the lady, but mom told me it's better you walk away from trouble because you don't know what will happen the next minute.
This lady got into a fight with one of our other neighbors, she was slapped and before you knew it, she fainted. The lady that slapped her was arrested. I began to imagine what would have happened if my mom had got into a fight with her?.
I see my mother being so contented with what she has, she will always tell me when you appreciate what others have, good things will also come to you. I see and hear about women who steal or pad budgets for upkeep inorder to have money for clothes or shoes but my mom will always tell me that doing that will lead to distrust from your husband. After getting married I applied this virtue of contentment and honesty, it has helped strengthen the love and trust between me and my husband.
My mother is a good home manager and growing up I watched how she would plan our meals for a whole week and also keep the house neat with six kids around. She was also working and never for once have I seen her going to work late. She made sure everything was in order before she left for work. I always wondered if she had super powers but has I grew up I watched her closely and I saw that she was just determined to make her home a happy place. She made things easy for everyone around the house and I loved how she got everyone involved in the house chores because she made it fun and exciting.
I learnt how to respect people from my mother, she never for once looked or talked down on anyone no matter the person's social status. She would always tell me that all human beings are equal not minding if the person is rich or poor.
My mom is a very hard working and diligent person, she would always tell me that there is no substitute for hard work and she never believed in handouts. I cultivated this attitude of hers and it has helped me become self-reliant.
My mother is my hero and I hope I will be my daughter's hero and role model. I always pray that at the end my children will not look at me and think oh what a disappointment our mother was. I will do my best to be the best mother and role model. So help me God
