The battle of Africa: Nigeria vs South Africa.

Good morning naijains. I'm very sure everyone is okay. With the victory on our side yesterday. The super eagles did do well. This year AFCON(African Cup of Nations), the super eagles adopted the title "Lets do it again" and for real though these people are so eager to win this and bring it home. They did it ladt in 2013 when they won the tournament and brought it home. Its been 11 years now and the super eagles by God's grace and theiy ability are about to do it again.

I'm one who watches football once in a while but yesterday's match I had to watch it live from the beginning to the end. My heart almost left my body. The tension and pressure no be here . Its no story that we beat Angola to get to the semi-finals and also we needed to beat someone too to get a chance to play in the finals. And that was South Africa's Bafana Bafana. We had to do this to reach our target. The match held at Stade de la Paix in Bouake.

The kickoff time was 5.pm but 6.pm Nigerian time. The stadium was full with supporters, legends like Segun Odegbami , the Vice President of Nigeria and a lot of celebrities too numerous to mention were live at the match to support the super eagles.

Five minutes into the game and there's still no win from any side. Ola Aina wins a free kick but the refree waves it off. It was a very anxious moments for the super eagles. Twenty minutes in and still nothing. The super eagles almost ended the first half with a goal. Two minutes was added but half time ended with 0-0 from both sides.

The super eagles needed to improve their display in the second half. They sha started it with some agility . An hour hone but still nothing from the boys. Few minutes later, Osihmen wins a penalty kick and Troost-ekong takes it and definitely He scores.

In 2019, Nigeria beat South Africa in an AFCON tournament, it was William Troost-Ekong who scored in that match and he did it again in Bouake. After a VAR check, south Africa was awarded a penalty kick and yes they scored. It was now equalised.

Full time and it ends Nigeria 🇳🇬 1-1South Africa 🇿🇦. The game goes into extra time. The two teams had to play two periods of 15 minutes to decide the winner of the match. They boys get pep talks from their coaches before the extra time commence.

First half of extra time Nigeria 1-1 South Africa. There's a change. Kelechi Iheanacho and Joe Aribo in for Frank Onyeka and Ademola Lookman. Later, Osimhen was been pulled off for Terem Moffi. There was a red card for a south African bafana bafana and a yellow card for Ekong.

Osayi-Bright is taken off for Keneth Omeruo as the boys are about to go into penalty shoot outs. Terem Moffi scored the first penalty kick and Nwabali saves for Nigeria. Omeruo, a man of momentary pleasure with the simplest of kicks scores.

South African boys score their second kick. Its now Nigeria 2-1 South Africa. Ola Aina blows it away and does not score, still Nigeria 2-1 South Africa. South African boys with their third kick but the man of the match, Nwabili saves. Fourth kick for Nigeria to be taken by Ekong and of course he scores. Now 3-1.

Iheancaho to take the last score. And goallllll💃. He scores. Super Eagles qualify for finals. 4-2 victory on penalties. This year was really a year not to gree for anybody. You do anyhow, you collect. Nigeria for final on Sunday. Plenty thanks to Jose Peseiro, the super eagles coach. And the man of the match, Stanley nwabali, dalu o.
