A mini vacation in Lisbon!

Hi fellow travelers,

Finally, I too can share a recent travel experience in this community, this time outside national borders. In fact, I had been planning this mini vacation for several months. Actually, it was just a weekend, but unfortunately many of my friends were not available to share this adventure with me. I'm talking about the beautiful city of Lisbon, a European capital that we Italians really love!

It's not the first time I've been to Portugal, but this time I was very lucky because I found a friend who had never been there and wanted to see Lisbon. So after booking a low-cost flight, we left this weekend.

What I can recommend when going to a place like this is to walk through the alleys of Lisbon. It's along those alleys that you can understand how life is lived there, and then the beauty of these alleys is that they are full of colors, which I love.

Naturally, in Lisbon, I found a lot of people, and this makes me very happy because it's probably still a very popular destination. It's not like those places that may be fashionable for a certain period but are probably still chosen because they are still quite economical compared to other countries, even though I could see that inflation is also being felt a lot there.

For example, I found the hotel rooms very expensive, and the food around seemed to have gone up in price too.
One of the first things I had my friend do was take him on a gastronomic tour of the specialties that can be tasted in Lisbon. He certainly already knew the Pastel de nada, this irresistible, delicious sweet that is now eaten all over the world. Dishes that are also close to our Italian tradition, because Lisbon has always given me that feeling of being in southern Italy. I'd say that as a city, it's very similar to a city like Palermo.

We didn't visit too many monuments, unfortunately, as I had already told you, I'm not a huge art lover. Let's say that the thing I like the most is food, but if there's an opportunity, I do visit because I still like admiring these places that are beautiful architecturally.

I've shared several photos that I took at different times. I certainly have a lot of material, and I might share it in another post. However, I must say that traveling to a place like this is always very regenerating. Of course, it's normal that traveling is a beautiful and pleasant thing, but it's the atmosphere you breathe in Lisbon that, in my opinion, ultimately makes you better.

I hope you enjoyed my photos, and I'll see you in my next post, also about Lisbon. See you soon!
