it's a beautiful season out there, the laughs and kind gestures even before Christmas day itself are so beautiful.
It's indeed a beautiful season

This holiday is full of good things, it's one holiday I love every year
The beauty of this holiday is having a full house of friends and family with beautiful smiles on everyone's faces
An atmosphere with love and a memorable one filled with fun

It's the season of love
the season of togetherness between friends and family and peace is the only thing that makes this season a successful one

For every season like this, I always have so many wishes hoping to make the season a memorable one but an occurrence of an incident changed all wishes to one
which is a PEACEFUL CELEBRATION

I was a bit younger then,I can't recollect precisely the year but very sure it's probably three days to Christmas and the atmosphere is filled with kind gestures and love

We stay close to a pipeline in Lagos, fuel passes down the route to some places and this particular Christmas period just happened to be a black one

Some set of people decided to burst the pipe at night just to steal as much fuel as they wanted with tankers .we only woke up and noticed there was a fuel leakage

To some people, it was a big opportunity to get more than what was needed
and some saw it as something to run away from

The fuel leakage attracted so many people who came from far distances just to steal free fuel

A whole lot of people were stealing t and it was all looking like it was going to be the best Christmas for them because they felt they had cheated the government with all their bad governance and also gotten themselves enough fuel to last for the festive period

There's was no stable light so obviously this is a big win for them

Only for the pipeline to catch fire and everyone close to the scene got burnt
It was a terrible year for Lagos and a terrible Christmas for some families because fathers, uncles, aunties, and sons got caught up in the fire

It was a bad Christmas season for us
Even the young me could feel the heat and sorrow of that particular year

I remember all I was praying for that year was for peace at the pipeline because the fire was outrageous and the black smoke alone would stick fear to your body

So many lives were lost, innocent ones, especially those living close to the pipeline

So many properties were lost also,
instead of joy and happiness, it was all just sorrow for so many people, and the thought of Christmas that year only brought tears

At that moment I could only wish for the fire to stop and for the lives caught up in the fire to be saved

That incident cut the happiness that comes with Christmas short
change the atmosphere filled with joy to an atmosphere filled with thick black smoke

Its an evergreen sad memory

So yes if I ever have to make a wish for this holiday season and such a wish would be guaranteed then my wish would be to have a successful celebration, a celebration without chaos, just to make the holiday a memorable one for everyone
