Technics for planting yams.
Farming is a very lucrative way of survival these days, mostly in my country where cost of living is going up on per minute and per second intervals. As it stands now, nobody knows when everything that went up higher can come down. People are confused, it looks like nobody has the solutions or answer to the situation. people rather look for alternatives on personal levels. The government is very far from the plague of the citizens. We have really found solance in doing farm work.
Farming or gardening has put quality different foods on many family's tables, our sound
Last year, i learned a farming method of planting yams in an empty cement sack add enough my soil, goat dug, water, wood ashes someone has used the wood cooked after which the ashes are used as manure. These three planting ingredients are mixed together and loaded back into the empty cement sack, then plant your yams. I sliced the yam in tubers and in sizeables then planted them.
Just see how healthy they are crawling, im so glad 😂.
I planted so many yams in sacks this year more than last year. I only planted ten sacks and harvested bountifully well. So early this year, like in the month of march, i started my planting for the year and did up to twenty bags though some didn't come up but these ones are doing very well. I expect that by October or December 2024, i will start harvesting and i believe to have a bountiful harvest of yams.
Remember, there are no much things required cultivating this new method of yam cultivation. Just get your yam tubers. Slce them in a sizeable portions. Get your empty, used cement sacks. Get some goat's dug, get your lomy soil, i mean the soil due for planting crops. Get your ashes, ashes are the after effect of cooking with wood. Get enough and reasonable a mount of water. Mix all together and there you go ....a perfect combination.
Then pack them up into the sacks. Sow your seeds, it's an amazing way and a new planting method. It yields very well. You can try it, if you haven't.
You know yams are known for crawling or creeping on the wall, I fastened nails on the fence wall and tie their crawling tips with rope. They began to crawl up, up higher and higher up on the wall. Some are crawling on the fence, this is the major way they can bear bigger tubers at harvest time. I pray they become bigger and biggest more than i ever expected. At harvest, i will also showcase the harvest results.
I'm very glad to have found this simple and shut court way to plant yams and numerous other seeds like tomatoes, pepper, fluted pumpkin, irish potatoes, garlic, ginger. I planted some ginger in one sack and it's doing very well too. I'm very glad for this....
