A Short Hike Up the Mountain
This is a short walk along the trail up the mountain which I was supposed to share on Wednesday but things happened differently so I'm only posting it today.
Hiking or walking was an exercise that the husband and I agreed to do at least once a week but because of busyness, we skipped doing it for a while. Luckily, the weather and our moods allowed it so we went last Saturday. It's a 30-minute hike from our house and the trail is ascending, leading to the mountain peak.

We rested at the base of the oldest tree (above photos). We are not certain if it is the oldest but along the trail it seems so. The others are smaller in size. I was to hug the tree but thought otherwise, maybe next time. While there, we found a wild turnip or "Jack-in-the-Pulpit" as others call it.

...and a fallen cute pine cone too. Normally, the pine cones along that route are larger and longer but at that time, we only saw this little one.

A short distance from where we rested, we found a young pine tree at the side of the trail. We took a picture of it so we can see how fast or slow it will grow. We hope to not forget to take a photo of it every time we go that route.

The clouds were covering the sun from time to time when we were there so it wasn't that hot and we took our time walking along the ascending narrow trail. It is a challenging place to walk but for me, it's better than walking along a paved and cemented foot path or road because the feet usually feel heavier especially when going uphill.

We stopped and rested again when we got closer to the trees lined up along the farms. We found some wild but edible black berries which we did not pick because they are still not ripe. Hope no one will take them before our next hike.

Then we continued with our walk and peeked into the farms behind the trees. The potatoes have just been harvested and whilst they may have sold the large ones, these smaller sizes will be kept in the storage by the owners until they will sprout and maybe plant them at another place after 6 months or so.

We walked further up and saw a cabbage plantation. Some farmers were working there so we didn't want to intrude. We're shy, you know... (lol)

After taking photos of the sky and the clouds, we headed back home.

It was a good hike amongst nature and everything else. I always appreciate it when the husband and I go for a walk together because the fun is multiplied. And we enjoyed dreaming and planning too while up there in the woods. Perhaps Mama Nature heard our dreams and hopefully help us make them come true :)

When next hike?
Hopefully soon... the weekend is coming again... so tomorrow maybe...?
Photographs are amazing and I enjoyed while reading your post.
Jack-in-the-Pulpit is new to me. I never have seen it. But it's looking beautiful.
I want to know what is the benefit if your would posted it from Liketu interface.

It was, thank you. Hope you can have a walk with your son soon :)
Here, they usually plant the third size (3x as they call it). The larger sizes are sold in the wholesale market.
Hi, sis!! It looks like it was a nice walk.
Happy Birthday to you!! 🎂🎁🌹 For you, it's Sunday already, but here it's still the 30th, hehe. In the last couple of days, I haven't been online much because yesterday was my son's high school graduation. But I take a moment to stop by to congratulate you.
I hope you had a great birthday😊 And that the Farm Boy spoiled you a lot. 🤗😘🥂
Hello amiga, it was a good walk and many thanks for your warm greetings and dropping by despite your busy day. I'm floored ❤ Still in bed due to a hangover, lol! I've written about it on a scheduled post for the day, lol!
My congratulations to you and to your son on his graduation.🎓🎓🎓 It must have been a momentous event for your family. Cheers to a happy celebration🥂
Thanks, sis! I just came from reading your post about the hangover, LOL. I spent all day yesterday with a red wine hangover too! after going out with friends to celebrate while my son was at his prom party.
I slept so much during the day yesterday 🤣🤣.
Cheers, sis!! 🍷🍷😆
Oh the things wine and enjoyment do to us when taken NOT in moderation🤣 Hope you're out of the hangover sis. It's nice to spend a day sleeping. It's a way to pamper ourselves from time to time.
Hello, sis!! After much sleeping, I got rid of the hangover. But I think on Saturday. I slept more hours than Grogu our cat 🤣🤣
Hahaha, that's okay sis, so well-deserved after a hectic week for you 😍 So Grogu must have watched you sleep more 😂
He sure did, lol!! Happy new month, sis

Love your photos. That pine tree looks promising. I wonder if it would grow in our area.

Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :), I truly enjoy exploring the world virtually each Wednesday seeing walks from all around the globe and feeling I am there and experiencing it all myself, such as I did in your post just now :)
It is good to take a walk once in a while. Specially if you're doing office work.
I am sure that the birds will get them before you do. 🙂

That's true, our bodies need these type of workout (walking) to stay healthy hehe.
