Making a school uniform for a reunion

Goodmorning all lovers of needle work. I hope the weekend went well with you all.
So my secondary school is having a reunion after graduating from school since 2012. And we have decided to go with the school day wear to present some gift to the school and i will be making my day wear by myself. So i thought of sharing the procedures here as well for you people.

These are the measurement i used
Shoulder 10
Halve length 17
Full length 37
Breast 40
Waist 35
Neck wide 3and a halve.
Neck tape 4 inches

So i started with the cutting of the top of the check.
I folded the fabric into two then i measure out the length of the body and at the same time i slint the shoulder and put 2 inche allowance from the shoulder sloot and cut it out.

The i went on to imputting my neck wide, i measeure out 3 and a halve then take my neck tape of 4 inches i made a stright cut and then i also measure the harmhokd and cut it out as well. Then i had then
I used the same measurement to cut another one for the back side.

Then i needed something to use for the turning of the neck i had to used the same already cut out front to cut out the turning but this time around i did not cut the same length i made it shorter since its for the turning.

I saw the materials together, i did the turning with the cut materials, after turning both the back side and the front side i kept it one place then move on the the down side of the fabrics.

I went into making the down side of the fabric , i folded the fabric into two side sinxe the materials is very long, this is because i needed an equal side for the pleats.

I folded it into two equal side and cut out my length, then i went on to making the pleats.
After cutting the materials into the normal length, i used the tape to measure the middle so that i will have same pleats on each side. I started making two pleats on each side then pin it down with my office pin.
After the pleats, i cut it out from the fabrics, then i make a pleats on the other side of the marerials and use the office pin to pin it down as well.

After pleating the materials with the office pin i decided to use my maching to saw it as well so that it will stay.

Then after doing these i went on to joining the two materials together so that i can have a long gown with two pleats on each side.

After doing all the joining i did some finishing work of the check like iroining of the materials and it was ready to be worn the next day for our school reunion, then i saw it for my bestie as well. Making it two cloths.

I really love the outcome of this uniform, its suit me so well. Look at me looking like i just cam out of secondary school. Kai.

Thanks all for passing through my blog.

It really looks on you. I wouldn’t even doubt that you’re now going to school😂
Great job especially with the down part. Let me snap out of it before I also end up sewing a uniform because this is nice.

This must be AKS, such a fun moment, all of you still look like students even after a decade in those uniforms 😅

Reunions are usually such a happy time and it’s good that you see a uniform to wear on this occasions. It goes along way to encourage students.
Well done dear, it’s good to see that you had a great time and even presented the students with gifts.
