Crazy Coffee
Joyce woke up feeling all excited, “today is the day! My big day! History was about to be made”, she said to herself.
She made her way downstairs with her tools, she went straight to the little store room which had become her mini-lab thanks to her parents for believing in her scientific prowess.
Just the way the blue litmus paper changes to red when in acid, so was her hallucinogenic mushroom mixture going to change when mixed with anything and she knew for a fact that it was possible.
Joyce carefully prepared everything just as she had seen the Indian scientist do it. Looking at the little mixture in her hand she was so proud of herself.
She arrived at the kitchen and observed the environment, she double-checked every corner of the living room, dining room, and staircase to see if there was anyone within sight but there was no one, she smiled to herself again as the coast was clear for her to conduct her experiment.
Joyce opened the kitchen cupboard to select the particular coffee brand she wanted as the cupboard held different brands.
Going through all of them quietly but swiftly she finally chose the brand that she wanted “This looks perfect for my big experiment”, she chuckled and immediately opened it and poured it into the coffee machine.
“Joyce! Joyce!, I hope you are not using my kitchen for one of those your experiments, or else you are grounded for life!”. She became scared upon hearing her mother’s voice.
“Yes Mum”.
“Young lady you will be grounded for life if I catch you messing around in my kitchen” Joyce’s mum yelled.
“Roger that captain!”
Joyce immediately poured the hallucinogenic mixture into the coffee machine.
She turned on the machine to let the fresh goodness come out but she was surprised, the colour did not change, it was still the same brown coffee colour that she knew. Feeling disappointed that her great experiment did not work Joyce threw the the coffee away, hissed, and was about to wash the cup when her mum showed up.
“Young lady what are you doing here”, her mum asked giving her a suspicious look.
“I came...e to..” she stuttered.
“You came to what?” Her mum asked slightly annoyed.
“I came to make my morning coffee”, she said smiling sheepishly.
“Since when did you start making your morning coffee yourself? Why didn’t you wait for your elder sister?
“I’m growing into a lady now so I need to start accepting responsibilities as Freda is not always going to be around.
“Whatever” She deadpanned.
Immediately Joyce dropped the washed cup she immediately ran out of the kitchen. That was close she said to herself whilst catching her breath.
She went back to her room, swept, and cleaned it up as she knew her mum would come any minute to inspect it.
“Hi Miss George” I smiled as I made my way to the living room.
“Hi Riley, Hi James, you all are looking good today,” I said smiling.
“Hi Trishhey”, they both said in unionism and I smiled and ruffled their hair.
“Hi Trisha, how are you doing?” Mrs. George Joyce’s mum asked patting a space on the sofa for me to sit.
"I am doing fine thank you and you?" I said politely.
“Where’s Joyce?” I asked.
“She’s tidying her room, she should be down in 30 minutes, while we wait for her let me brew a cup of coffee for you”. She said sweetly as she made her way to the kitchen.
Within five minutes Mrs. George came to the living room and handed me a cup of coffee.
“What brand of coffee is this? It smells different from all the coffee that I have taken”, I asked Mrs. George.
“Ohhh it’s one of the new brands of coffee that I bought.
“Ohh I see”.
I had the first sip, the taste was off but I assumed it was normal. The second sip and I was taken aback and just when I took the third sip Joyce screamed.
“Trish NO!!, Trish NO!!
“Mum where did you get this coffee from?” Joyce asked her mum who was slightly annoyed by her outburst.
“From the coffee machine of course”, Joyce mum replied angrily.
“No Mum you weren’t supposed to take the coffee from there”, Joyce said shakily.
While Joyce and her mum were going back and forth, one minute I was sitting on the chair the next minute I was on the floor laughing uncontrollably and calling on my dead father.
“Papa I made your favorite food, come and eat before you go play football,” I said while smiling at my dead father who was standing in front of me.
“Papa meet my boyfriend Jack”, he is such a cutie right?” I stood up touching Joyce’s brother unknown to me.
“Papa look he has a dimple like you, Jackie smile for my Papa,” I said laughing hysterically.
“Is Trishhey in heaven already that she can see her dead father?” I heard someone say but I couldn’t pinpoint who it was.
“Papa I miss you, I want to sleep now I will stop by your room later”
“Oh God this is bad, so bad”, Joyce looked at me, and she was so scared. The hallucinogenic mushroom was taking full force in my system.
“What did you do Joyce?!! You are so dead!” Joyce's mum yelled.
Joyce immediately searched for remedies for intake of hallucinogenic mushrooms and discovered the effect lasted for only 5 hours.
“Mum Trisha will be fine in the next 5 hours,” she said sadly to her mum and wiped the tears from her eyes. I sat still on the floor feeling helpless.

.Honestly, five hours of that drama would be really insane. I thought about what this would look like if it really happened, it would be funny and not funny.
Joyce would definitely face the consequences because her mom was definitely angry but I can't tell if her experiment was a success or not.
Joyce is going to face the punishment of her life, poor her, all she ever wanted to do was to do great things in the science world but it back fired!
Thank God she will be ok is some hours if not Joyce would have received worse punishment from her mother that has been warning her since morning
Lol I know right?
Poor girl innocently suffered from substance poisoning. Fortunately in 5 hours she will be better and in all five senses of her.☕
Thanks for sharing.
Good day.
Oh no! This story was one of a kind, I could feel how other panicked.
Thanks for your kind words Amie🥰
It's a pleasure.
I love the pictures in between as you tell your story, glad it wasn't a fatal poisonous substance

Thank you so much my !lady🥰
Well experimenting with food never goes well, she should have gotten rid of it before leaving the kitchen, now she has to watch her friend make a fool of herself for 5 hours😂
