Search the skies
When you search the skies this Christmas
For reindeer through the night
You may see a star that's shining
So beautiful and bright
It sparkles just like glitter
And is very special to me
Someone important in my life
I no longer sadly see
But I know they're always here
Just watching from afar
I can't talk to them like I used to
When they left it broke my heart
I speak about them often
And always shed a tear
But it seems to hit the hardest
Around this time of year
When loved ones come together
And share a warm embrace
Sat together round the table
There's another empty space
I want to feel excited
As we all exchange our gifts
But it's overpowered with sadness
For the one I really miss
So when the sleighbells ring
That Santa's on his way
I'll still be looking out the window
At my loved one far away
