FC Barcelona Must Top Group H In The UCL
The Uefa Champions League draw for the new campaign was made last week. There are a lot of interesting groups especially Group F which got my attention because it happens to be the toughest group in the new campaign season. FC Barcelona are in Group H and the following teams make up the group, FC Barcelona, Porto, Shakhtar Donetsk and Antwerp(The first time I heard about this club).
There is no excuse for Xavi and the players if they don't top this group because this should be an easy ride for Barcelona. Uefa decided to let Barcelona breathe this season 😂 because, for the last two season, the club have witnessed hell at the hands of Bayern Munich and I am 100 percent sure if Barcelona were to face Bayern Munich again they still don't have a chance to stop the German machines for annihilating them this season.
Xavi has to take the club out of the group stage this season and if he fails then there will be a lot of questions concerning his capability to continue as the manager of the club but still, I am sure Laporta won't give it a thought to sack Xavi. Aside from Barcelona's bad performance in the UCL, Xavi is the main reason Barcelona is back on track.
Xavi took the club from the 8th spot on the table to the 2nd spot at the end of the 2022 La Liga campaign season and also won the Spanish Super Cup against Real Madrid and won the La Liga title in his first full season as FC Barcelona manager. Xavi deserves it and I am sure in time he will improve the team even more and who knows he could probably win the UCL title with the club.
FC Barcelona will probably get knocked out in the round of 16 or quarter-finals. I just feel the club is not ready yet to compete in the Champions League because more improvement still needs to be made by Xavi and his coaching staff, but I could be wrong and they might just end up winning the UCL title.
The opening matchday of the UCL is about two weeks from now and I can't wait to see it kick-off. Group F would be the center of attraction and I will give my thoughts on the group in my next post. So guys that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a good evening.
Cant wait for UCL to start already, Barca has a great team rn, Gundogan has been great for the team now lets see how well he does with City partner Cancelo, I hope they dont get into injuries like last season so they can make progress
