Este mes es uno de los favoritos para los amantes del terror y el suspenso, yo soy una de ellas. La palabra cementerio me genera muchas expectativas de lo que una buena película de este tópico puede ser, por lo tanto, bastó leer el título para que me atrapara. Confieso que no soy muy asidua a los films de vampiros (a excepción de Drácula de Bram Stoker), momias y zombies, pero si me gusta el suspenso y el terror psicológico, tampoco me gusta ver sangre por todos lados sin entender de qué se trata la trama.
Cementerio maldito o cementerio de animales es una de las películas que puedo ver una y otra vez sin que me cause aburrimiento. He visto tres de ella, consta de dos partes, y luego, en el 2019 filmaron una nueva versión de la parte I que a mi parecer es mucho mejor que la original.
Básicamente la sinopsis es la misma, una familia que se muda lejos de la ciudad para comenzar una nueva vida, lejos del humo del tránsito y el agitado tren de vida en la ciudad. Otros lo hacen por alejarse de alguna tragedia y es allí donde la zona rural sirve de escenario para que se desencadenen una serie de acontecimientos espeluznantes que tienen que ver con la muerte.
Para el ser humano no es fácil abordar este tema, a sabiendas que es algo inevitable y es parte de la vida. Muchas veces las leyes naturales se transgreden y el curso natural puede invertirse. Justamente, este es el punto de partida para que nuestros personajes actúen en busca de mitigar el dolor por la pérdida de un ser querido o una mascota. Nadie quiere ver morir a su familia y más si se trata de un hijo, nada fácil, pero ¿si tuvieras la oportunidad de traerlo de vuelta, lo harías? .
Estas familias tienen muy cerca de sus residencias un viejo cementerio donde son enterradas las mascotas, en cada fosa hay una dedicatoria muy emotiva para recordarlas por siempre, por todo ese amor que alguna vez profesaron. Sin embargo, más adelante existe otro cementerio, con otra tierra, árida y amarga, donde se dice que los muertos pueden volver a caminar.
Esta película explora la muerte en su lado más profundo, los personajes tratan de encontrar la lógica de lo que sucede después del sueño eterno, cuánto dolor puede causarnos la pérdida de nuestros seres queridos, incluyendo a los animales y cómo afrontar todo esto. Si me preguntan que opino de la película, digo con toda propiedad que me conmovió. Es raro pensar que una película de terror puede tocar el corazón de alguien, pero estos tres film lo hicieron. No solo se trata de una película espeluznante, llena de suspenso y horror con algunas escenas bastante sangrientas.
Los personajes afrontaron pérdidas significativas en su vida, como la de un hijo, quienes son padres lo entenderán. Recuerdo siempre escuchar a mi madre decir que no había dolor más grande que la pérdida de un hijo. Son los hijos quienes entierran a sus padres y no al revés, siempre duele, pero es la ley natural de la vida y así debe ser.
La pérdida de una madre es otro tema doloroso, de adulto nos duele, sin embargo, cuando aún eres muy chico lastima mucho más, como le pasó a en la segunda parte a Jeff Mathews (Edward Furlong) y cuyo papel estuvo muy bien plantado, demostrando al típico adolescente deprimido por la muerte de su madre después un terrible accidente que el mismo presenció. También nos duele perder a una mascota muy querida, este es otro tema que se toca en la película. Cuando somos niños la muerte es un tema nuevo que nos lleva a hacernos muchas preguntas como, ¿porque morimos?, ¿A dónde vamos después? ó ¿porque ellos mueren primero que nosotros?, los queremos tanto que deseamos que sean eternos.
De niña recuerdo que al entender que todos morimos, me entró una angustia tal que me puse a llorar pensando que sería de mi si mi familia me faltara. Por supuesto, ni hablar de mis mascotas cuando por ciertas circunstancias tuvieron que dejarnos.
En relación a la actuación de los personajes, opino que reflejaron muy bien en sus estados de ánimos la tristeza al perder a un ser querido, la desesperación de no volverlos a ver o el arrepentimiento por no haber hecho lo correcto para que la tragedia no sucediera. Encararon muy bien todas esas emociones propias cuando ocurre la muerte.
En cuanto al terror se refiere, en esta ocasión fueron los niños a quienes les correspondió infundir miedo, y siempre me pregunté cómo lograron esa magistral actuación, tal como lo hicieron en la parte I, Gage Creed (Miko Hughes, versión de 1989) y Ellie Creed (Jeté Laurence, versión 2019). Lucieron muy tenebrosos, tanto en gestualidad, aspecto y en las acciones de matar a sus semejantes, mis felicitaciones para ellos.
En mi opinión personal, Cementerio Maldito o Cementerio de Mascotas no es más que el reflejo del dolor por no aceptar la muerte de un ser querido. Para mitigar esa tristeza, los personajes cometieron actos de barbaridad, enterrar a los suyos en una tierra amarga que llevaba consigo una promesa, devolverlos a la vida. Ellos sabían que el regreso nunca sería el mismo, pero aún así confiaron en esa tierra que les devolvió algo que no era lo que realmente esperaban.

This month is one of the favorites for horror and suspense lovers, I am one of them. The word cemetery generates a lot of expectations of what a good movie of this topic can be, therefore, it was enough to read the title to catch me. I confess that I am not very assiduous to vampire films (with the exception of Bram Stoker's Dracula), mummies and zombies, but if I like suspense and psychological horror, I don't like to see blood everywhere without understanding what the plot is about.
Cursed Cemetery or Animal Cemetery is one of the movies that I can watch over and over again without getting bored. I have seen three of it, it consists of two parts, and then in 2019 they filmed a new version of part I which in my opinion is much better than the original.
Basically the synopsis is the same, a family that moves away from the city to start a new life, away from the traffic smoke and the hectic train of life in the city. Others do it to get away from some tragedy and it is there where the rural area serves as a stage for a series of horrifying events that have to do with death.
It is not easy for human beings to deal with this subject, knowing that it is inevitable and is part of life. Many times natural laws are transgressed and the natural course can be reversed. Precisely, this is the starting point for our characters to act in order to mitigate the pain of the loss of a loved one or a pet. Nobody wants to see their family die, especially if it is a child, which is not easy, but if you had the opportunity to bring him back, would you do it?.
These families have very close to their homes an old cemetery where their pets are buried, in each grave there is a very emotional dedication to remember them forever, for all the love they once professed. However, further down the road there is another cemetery, with another land, arid and bitter, where it is said that the dead can walk again.
This film explores death in its deepest side, the characters try to find the logic of what happens after eternal sleep, how much pain the loss of our loved ones, including animals, can cause us and how to cope with it all. If you ask me what I think of the film, I say with all propriety that I was moved. It's rare to think that a horror movie can touch someone's heart, but these three films did. Not only is it a creepy, suspenseful and horrifying film with some pretty gory scenes.
The characters faced significant losses in their lives, such as that of a child, those who are parents will understand. I remember always hearing my mother say that there was no greater pain than the loss of a child. It is the children who bury their parents and not the other way around, it always hurts, but it is the natural law of life and that is the way it should be.
The loss of a mother is another painful subject, as an adult it hurts us, however, when you are still very young it hurts much more, as happened in the second part to Jeff Mathews (Edward Furlong) and whose role was very well played, showing the typical teenager depressed by the death of his mother after a terrible accident that he himself witnessed. It also hurts us to lose a beloved pet, this is another theme that is touched upon in the film. When we are children, death is a new topic that makes us ask ourselves many questions such as, why do we die, where do we go next, or why do they die before us, we love them so much that we want them to be eternal.
As a child I remember that when I understood that we all die, I felt such anguish that I began to cry thinking what would become of me if my family were to die. Of course, not to mention my pets when for certain circumstances they had to leave us.
Regarding the performance of the characters, I think they reflected very well in their moods the sadness of losing a loved one, the despair of not seeing them again or the regret for not having done the right thing to prevent the tragedy from happening. They dealt very well with all those emotions when death occurs.
As far as terror is concerned, this time it was the children who were the ones to instill fear, and I always wondered how they pulled off that masterful performance, just as they did in Part I, Gage Creed (Miko Hughes, 1989 version) and Ellie Creed (Jeté Laurence, 2019 version). In my personal opinion, Cementerio Maldito or Cementerio de Mascotas is nothing more than a reflection of the pain of not accepting the death of a loved one. To mitigate that sadness, the characters committed acts of barbarity, burying their loved ones in a bitter land that carried with it a promise, to bring them back to life. They knew that the return would never be the same, but they still trusted in that land that gave them back something that was not what they really expected.

Casi siempre que una película de terror incluye niños el terror está garantizado, debido a que normalmente esperamos inocencia de ellos, cuando vemos caras aterradoras y actitudes amenazantes esto nos crea un shock emocional y psicológico.
Esta película fue muy perturbadora al igual que la original, pero igualmente guarda un trasfondo muy emocional y es la dificultad de algunas personas para asimilar el duelo, simplemente no pueden soportar la muerte de un ser querido y esto los lleva a la autodestrucción.
Tal cual describes, a mi las tres películas me parecieron muy buenas, de principio a fin generan un suspenso tal que quieres saber que es lo que realmente sucederá al enterrar a la gente que ha muerto en aquel cementerio indio. A parte de lo perturbadora que es, me cautivó el trasfondo emocional sobre la muerte. Saludos y gracias por comentar.

A pesar de que me gustan esos géneros tampoco me gustan mucho los zombies jajaja los vampiros si me agradan. Para este Halloween ando buscando también algunas películas que no sean solo sangre y tengan algún propósito.
Hola, si, es Stephen King, las tres películas son muy buenas, te las recomiendo con los ojos cerrados. Aunque la lógica en lo sobrenatural es difícil de encontrar, hay películas que tratan de darle un sentido a lo terrorífico.
Ah I remember seeing an older movie of this adaptation of King's novel. The newer version I haven't seen, I'll have to look it up to see it and make comparisons with the older one.
Hello @jcrodriguez, there are several Animal Cemetery movies, the first one I saw was the 1989 version and years later I saw the second part. Then I had the opportunity to see the 2019 one, it's a new one from part I. Although the theme is the same, there are some changes regarding the death of the children and the ending, nothing like the original 1989 film. I hope that you can see it, I liked the 2019 version better, but of course it is a matter of taste.
Me encanta esta película y en general las demás adaptaciones de los libros de Stephen King porque son precisamente esas que no necesitan que ser absurdamente sangrientas para presentar el terror, el miedo y el suspenso, esta película para mi es un clásico infalatble de Halloween y de todo el año si es posible, además que viene a ser un tema bastante polémico porque la pérdida trágica de un hijo pequeño puede desencadenar sentimientos muy fuertes, el apego y la no resignación. A mí me gusta verlas una y otra vez, me parecen muy buenas. Es un clásico del terror que no falla en este mes y excelente en cualquier época. Me gusta eso, tiene sentido lo que hicieron los personajes, una razon de ser no es solo sangre y suspenso, son elementos que complementan muy bien la trama.
