Ori and the Blind Forest - Definitive Edition.
On a fine day when I was surfing hive gaming community, suddenly I felt like checking the trending part of the community and there I've found a post about this game Ori and the Blind Forest.
The thumbnail picture of that post made me wish to check out the post and I started reading it. I wish I remember the author name so I could leave that link here but sadly, I forgot. So, when I started reading the post, I was loving the screenshots and I think there was a gameplay video or a trailer video of the game or maybe I myself watched a video from YouTube and believe me, this one impressed me at first sight.
I did notify that author that I was downloading the game right away and I played for more than an hour that night when it was time for sleep. The background music of the first menu amazed me too much and fortunately I was not using any headset at that moment.
Well, using a headset for this game is kind of a must to feel the actual love inside the music but I used the word "fortunately" about not using a headset cause the music from my sound box not only fascinated me but also it fascinated my wife who was about to sleep. My PC desk is at a position that my wife could watch the gameplay from the bed and as I started playing the game, she couldn't stop praising about it.
The prologue part brought us happiness at the beginning and in a very short time, both of us got sad. I'd say this game is a masterpiece and I'm thankful to that author who talked about this game otherwise I may never know about this.
While not talking about Avengers, I'll try to talk about this game till I finish this one. And as I talk more and play less, I'll show smaller parts of the game explaining it so that peoples who don't wish to play this may get a good inside of the game reading my posts.
Check out this trailer by MoonGameStudios and be amazed like me. Don't forget to use a headset otherwise you may miss the true feel of the magical music.
About the game: Ori and the Blind Forest is a platform-adventure Metroidvania video game developed by Moon Studios and published by Microsoft Studios. Players assume control of Ori, a small white spirit, and Sein, the "light and eyes" of the Forest's Spirit Tree. Players are tasked to move between platforms and solve puzzles. The game features a save system called "Soul Links", which allows players to save their progress at will with limited resources, and an upgrade system that gives players the ability to strengthen Ori's skills and abilities.
In-game Menu:
The in-game menu shows four options below as 1. Start Game, 2. Help & Options, 3. Theater, 4. Exit Game.
1. Start Game
You get 10 empty slot which means you can save the game in 10 different slots. And you get to choose the game difficulty level as soon as you click on of those slots, I chose easy as I'd like to focus more on story and less on challenge.
2. Help & Options
You get everything about game settings in this part from where you can change the resolution, screen ratio and other needed things. And you can see the controls of keyboard, keyboard+mouse, gamepad but you can't change the controls.
3. Theater
This is an amazing part of the game that I haven't seen in any game before. This part gives you an option to get familiar with the game cutscenes that gets unlocked as you advanced to the game.
Then behind the scenes shows you something special that a player can't be witness for any game. This part has six clips where there's the early beginnings clip that shows a development preview of the game and it shows that the game had a different name at that time. The interaction concepts, enemy concepts and sequence concepts gives you a special view of those sequences.
And I liked making of the sounds effects the most where you can see a part of the sound making progress and I was amazed seeing how they made those amazing sounds out of ordinary things.
And there are some promotional videos like trailers and some concept art in the theater part and I used the thumbnail picture from the concept art page.
I wish to talk about the theatre part in more details in the future showing those clips in a separate post so I'm leaving it here as it is.
4. Exit Game
And the most exciting thing happened when I tried the exit game option. When I clicked on the exit game button, there arose a question for me asking, "Do you want to quit?" and I had the option to select from ok and cancel. Out of excitement, I selected the ok button and the game was closed automatically, isn't it amazing? LOLOLOLOL, I'm kidding man.
Who talks about the exit game? I do hehehe.
It's all that I wish to talk about today. I'll come talk about the gameplay very soon.

Ori and the Blind Forest is such a fantastic game! Not only is it gorgeous, but the platforming and action is perfectly satisfying.
I totally agree. It's a game worth falling in love in my sense. Thanks for your comment.
I bought this game in the last Steam sale and I haven't tried it yet. I think this will be the first game I'll check out after I finish my Frostpunk series. It looks great and I already knew it was one of the best games for music. Thanks for sharing and reminding me, man. I'm looking forward to more in-game content on this game.
I highly recommend this one.
I was actually about to talk about my in-game journey and I even uploaded some screenshots of my gameplay and then I wished to talk a little about this game, wished to talk how I feel about this game. So, I started writing all those things thinking I'll add the in-game part at the bottom.
But after I ended writing this part, I stopped me from writing the in-game part as the post is already too big and I don't want my readers to lose their interest reading a very big post.
I drafted the screenshots and I'll talk about that tomorrow if I get enough time.
Thanks for your comment.
I recommend this one as well. I was completely blown away by the game. It has a touching story, epic boss fights, and cool abilities and you already mentioned the music.
It changed the way how I look at platformers now.
This game rings a bell, I feel like I've seen it somewhere else, but I've never gotten to play it, anyway it looks like a good game, I won't know until I try it.
Haha how nice that you and your wife will be thrilled with the game.
Cheers!
It is a good game and I personally guarantee that you won't regret trying it but don't look for me if you don't like it lol.
probably one of the best platforms that microsoft has, it is beautiful in every way

One of the best-looking platformers for sure. I was blown away from the graphics, the storytelling and the boss fights. One of the best games I have ever played.
I haven't faced any boss yet as I didn't have time to play for a long time.
BTW, you forgot to praise the background music.
Ah, the music. It is the best. The complete experience is just magical. Take your time and soak in everything.
The music of this game really sounds magical. Another one is Sky: Children of the Light that I played in android long back and I kept playing it until I reached the ending.
Well explained and I'm looking forward to seeing your next post about this game.

Yes magical, I played Sky as well and I kind of finished playing it long back.
The last scene was beautiful although the whole game was beautiful, especial the music should be something that we need to talk about.
I'm happy to know that you liked my post and thanks for curating.
Do try this game someday.
My pleasure. It's nice to know you're familiar with Sky.
Yes, the last scene was quite surprising, and thanks for recommending me to play Ori and the Blind Forest.
I've heard great things about this game and the truth is that the graphics look so beautiful, I definitely have to give it a try and play its sequel too.
Yes, its definitely worth trying. I wouldn't mind with a worse graphics if the music was this beautiful. Its just a perfect combination.
