It is never easy being the head of department as one will be often put in difficult position. John whom recently promoted to become the head of his department is feeling this whenever it comes to meetings where his direct reports with different opinion and he is being asked to make a decision among the guys. There were times that it was easy to make a clear cut decision, but there are also times that it was really tough to make decisions in view of morale issues and harmony within the team.

However, John was determined to be stronger in this aspect and took up a leadership course which was highly recommended by his peers. And indeed after attending, John felt more equipped and while still being put in difficult positions, he was able to get a clear decision out.
