Ciao a tutti! Come state? Spero che tutto stia andando bene. È davvero da un po' che non scrivo, ma la scorsa settimana ho deciso di prendermi una breve pausa e ho scelto di trascorrerla a Bergamo. Era un desiderio che avevo da parecchio tempo: tornare in questa città così affascinante. E sapete una cosa? Ho avuto la fortuna di conoscere una persona che possiede diverse proprietà a Bergamo, e ho colto l'opportunità per concedermi qualche giorno di relax e per esplorare la città in modo più approfondito.

Avevo già visitato Bergamo una volta in passato, ma è stata una visita fugace di soli poche ore. Questa volta, invece, ho avuto il lusso di potermi immergere pienamente nell'atmosfera di questa splendida località, e per i prossimi post voglio condividervi quello che ho visto, ma soprattutto le sensazioni che mi ha lasciato questa città.
Il primo giorno della mia avventura a Bergamo è stato emozionante. Sono arrivato intorno a mezzogiorno e ho subito notato quanto fosse bello l'appartamento che avevo prenotato per il mio soggiorno. Avevo pagato 270 euro per tre notti, un prezzo che ritenevo ragionevole, considerando il comfort e la comodità che l'appartamento offriva.

L'appartamento non si trovava nel centro storico della città, ma sinceramente non mi dispiaceva affatto. Arrivare in auto a Bergamo mi aveva fatto riflettere sul fatto che trovare parcheggio in centro avrebbe potuto essere un problema. Quindi, ho deciso di optare per un appartamento leggermente fuori dal centro, ma comunque ben collegato. Si trovava vicino al cimitero, una posizione che potrebbe sembrare insolita, ma che si è rivelata più vantaggiosa di quanto pensassi.
Dall'appartamento partivano diverse linee della linea urbana di trasporto pubblico. Sebbene avessi la possibilità di utilizzare i mezzi, ho preferito spostarmi a piedi. Bergamo Alta, la parte storica più alta della città, si trovava a circa 2 chilometri di distanza, mentre la stazione è ancora più vicina, circa 1,5 Km.
Dopo esserci sistemati comodamente nell'appartamento, abbiamo deciso di fare un pranzo veloce per poi partire all'esplorazione della parte alta di Bergamo, quella davvero caratteristica. Ci siamo incamminati lungo le stradine acciottolate, lasciandoci incantare dall'atmosfera unica che questa città offre. Tra gli antichi palazzi che si affacciavano su di noi e le numerose chiese che incontravamo lungo il percorso, abbiamo subito compreso che stavamo vivendo un'esperienza speciale. In effetti, le prime cose che abbiamo visitato sono state proprio queste gemme storiche: antichi edifici che raccontano storie lontane e chiese che portano con sé secoli di devozione e arte.

La prima chiesa che ci siamo avventurati a visitare è stata quella di Santo Spirito. E' una splendida chiesa risalente al 1300, situata in una piccola traversa di Via Pignolo, una delle strade più importanti di Bergamo Bassa. Questo luogo sacro era un autentico pezzo di storia, poiché faceva parte di un complesso molto più vasto. Nelle vicinanze si trovavano un ospedale e un convento, un richiamo di un'epoca passata.

Siamo entrati in chiesa quando c'era ancora poca gente, e abbiamo notato dei ragazzi intenti a scattare foto. Pare che stessero lavorando a un progetto immersivo da condividere online, il che ci ha fatto capire quanto fosse un luogo che continua a ispirare e affascinare nel tempo. L'interno della chiesa ci ha colpiti molto: era davvero affascinante. Uno dei punti salienti era l'importante pala d'altare dipinta da Lorenzo Lotto, un rinomato pittore veneto. Lotto aveva vissuto per lungo tempo a Bergamo ed era stato incaricato di realizzare numerose opere in città.

La nostra esplorazione ha proseguito alla scoperta di un'altra chiesa, la Chiesa di San Bernardino in Pignolo. Anche questa chiesa, come molte altre, è stata resa accessibile grazie all'opera volontaria del Touring Club. È stata un'altra gemma da scoprire, risalente anch'essa al 1330 e fondata dal frate francescano Bernardino da Siena.

L'atmosfera all'interno era davvero suggestiva. I dettagli architettonici e le opere d'arte ci hanno catturato immediatamente, e ho notato la diversità rispetto quella di prima. Il fatto che questa chiesa sia stata fondata da Bernardino da Siena, una figura storica importante, aggiungeva un significato speciale al luogo. Ma senza dubbio, uno dei momenti salienti è stato quando ci siamo trovati di fronte alla pala d'altare più celebre di Lorenzo Lotto. Quest'opera, una tela che raffigura la Madonna con il Bambino e i Santi Bernardino da Siena, Giovanni Battista, Francesco e Girolamo, ci ha affascinato profondamente. Lotto era chiaramente in grado di catturare l'espressione e la spiritualità dei soggetti, regalandoci una vista toccante e commovente, e poi i colori molto particolari.

Dopo aver esplorato le chiese e aver vissuto quel momento di immersione nella storia, abbiamo deciso di fare qualche giro nei dintorni per prendere alcune cose al supermercato. Nonostante fossimo stanchi dal viaggio e il tempo iniziava a scorrere velocemente, ci rendevamo conto che non saremmo riusciti ad arrivare fino a Bergamo Alta quel giorno. Ma sapevamo che quella sarebbe stata sicuramente una tappa per il giorno successivo.

Anche se avevamo solo iniziato a scoprire le bellezze di Bergamo, eravamo già catturati dalla sua atmosfera unica. Le chiese, i palazzi e l'arte che avevamo incontrato ci avevano lasciato desiderosi di esplorare ancora di più. Era evidente che c'erano ancora molte meraviglie da scoprire, e non vedevamo l'ora di farlo.

Hello everyone! How are you? I hope everything is going well. It's been a while since I last wrote, but last week I decided to take a short break and chose to spend it in Bergamo. It was a desire I had for quite some time: to return to this charming city. And you know what? I was fortunate to meet someone who owns several properties in Bergamo, and I took the opportunity to treat myself to a few days of relaxation and to explore the city more thoroughly.

I had already visited Bergamo once in the past, but it was a brief visit of just a few hours. This time, however, I had the luxury of fully immersing myself in the atmosphere of this splendid location, and for the upcoming posts, I want to share with you what I saw, but above all, the feelings that this city left me with.

The first day of my adventure in Bergamo was exciting. I arrived around noon and immediately noticed how beautiful the apartment I had booked for my stay was. I had paid 270 euros for three nights, a price I considered reasonable, considering the comfort and convenience the apartment provided.

The apartment wasn't located in the historical center of the city, but honestly, I didn't mind at all. Arriving in Bergamo by car had made me consider the potential challenge of finding parking in the city center. So, I decided to opt for an apartment slightly outside the center, but still well-connected. It was situated near the cemetery, a position that might seem unusual, but it turned out to be more advantageous than I initially thought.

Several public transportation lines originated from the apartment. Despite having the option to use public transport, I preferred to move around on foot. Bergamo Alta, the elevated historic part of the city, was about 2 kilometers away, while the train station was even closer, about 1.5 kilometers.

After settling comfortably into the apartment, we decided to have a quick lunch and then set off to explore the upper part of Bergamo, the truly characteristic area. We strolled along the cobblestone alleyways, mesmerized by the unique atmosphere that this city offers. Amid the ancient palaces that overlooked us and the numerous churches we encountered along the way, we immediately understood that we were having a special experience. In fact, the first things we visited were these historical gems: ancient buildings that told distant stories and churches that carried centuries of devotion and art.

The first church we ventured to visit was Santo Spirito. It's a splendid church dating back to the 1300s, located in a small side street off Via Pignolo, one of the main roads in Lower Bergamo. This sacred place was an authentic piece of history, as it was part of a much larger complex. Nearby, there were a hospital and a convent, reminiscent of a bygone era.

We entered the church when there were only a few people around, and we noticed some young people taking photos. It seemed they were working on an immersive project to share online, which made us realize how this place continues to inspire and captivate over time. The interior of the church left a strong impression on us: it was truly fascinating. One of the highlights was the significant altar painting by Lorenzo Lotto, a renowned Venetian painter. Lotto had lived in Bergamo for a long time and had been commissioned to create numerous works in the city.

Our exploration continued as we discovered another church, the Church of San Bernardino in Pignolo. This church, like many others, was made accessible thanks to the voluntary efforts of the Touring Club. It was another gem to uncover, dating back to 1330 and founded by the Franciscan friar Bernardino da Siena.

The atmosphere inside was truly evocative. The architectural details and artworks immediately captivated us, and I noticed a distinct contrast from the previous church. The fact that this church was founded by Bernardino da Siena, an important historical figure, added a special significance to the place. However, undoubtedly, one of the highlights was when we stood before Lorenzo Lotto's most celebrated altar piece. This artwork, a canvas depicting the Madonna with the Child and the Saints Bernardino da Siena, John the Baptist, Francis, and Jerome, deeply fascinated us. Lotto's ability to capture the expressions and spirituality of the subjects was evident, granting us a touching and moving view, not to mention the distinctive colors that added to its uniqueness.

After exploring the churches and immersing ourselves in that historical moment, we decided to take a stroll around the surroundings to pick up a few things from the supermarket. Even though we were tired from the journey and time was quickly passing by, we realized that we wouldn't be able to reach Bergamo Alta on that day. But we knew that would definitely be a stop for the following day.

Even though we had only just begun discovering the beauties of Bergamo, we were already captivated by its unique atmosphere. The churches, palaces, and art we had encountered left us eager to explore even more. It was evident that there were still many wonders to uncover, and we were looking forward to it.
