Cool Discoveries: Exploring the Astico River Pools near Home
Hello friends! How are you? It's wonderful to read your posts about your walks, which is why I also wanted to share here a walk I took to discover a place that's just a few kilometers from my home, which everyone had spoken highly of but I had never had the opportunity to see in person. Sometimes, we travel long distances to visit beautiful places, yet we fail to realize that there might be even more beautiful places right near our homes that perhaps aren't as well-publicized. Such is the case with the "pozze" of Arsiero, located in the province of Vicenza. Some describe this place as a small terrestrial paradise. Moreover, the fact that Italy is experiencing an extended summer into October with temperatures almost reaching 30 degrees Celsius encourages people to visit this place. I must say I was surprised to find it quite crowded, probably because it offers the chance to take a refreshing swim in a beautiful place practically for free. In this spot, the Astico River creates true natural pools, and the water takes on a emerald green hue, although, as you can see from the photos, due to the prolonged drought (it hasn't rained for a long time), there isn't a lot of water. Fortunately, this river is constantly fed by the mountains where it originates. This place can be considered a series of small natural canyons, sculpted over time by the river. In addition to forming these natural pools, in some spots, when the river has a strong flow, it creates beautiful waterfalls. However, caution is necessary when swimming in these pools. While they offer beautiful spots for relaxation, in some places, they can be quite deep, over nine meters. Around this point of interest, there are many hiking trails, so I took the opportunity to enjoy a nice walk, as I found the water too cold for swimming. I hope you have found my experience interesting, and as usual, I hope I've introduced you to an intriguing place in Italy, particularly for nature enthusiasts. Stay tuned for more adventures, and thank you for reading my post. Goodbye, everyone!
