"Between Mists and Silences: A Winter Excursion to the Hermitage of San Bernardino"
Hello friends of this beautiful community, Today I want to share with you the experience of the walk I took yesterday morning, and I must admit that for the first time in a while, I felt quite cold, despite being well-prepared. Unfortunately, in my area, temperatures dropped to minus 2 degrees during the night, which are still appropriate for the season, but perhaps I wasn't accustomed anymore, and I didn't cover myself enough. I chose a route that I had already taken several times because it is well-marked, so it was quite familiar, lasting about an hour and a half. I tried to start early because I wanted to enjoy the sunrise, and fortunately, I was well rewarded. After starting the path along a well-marked trail, I found myself facing a breathtaking panorama, shrouded in fog that gave the landscape a mystical and mysterious aura. Continuing along the path, equipped a few years ago by local volunteers, I reached the Hermitage of San Bernardino. I probably showed it to you in the past. Unfortunately, this place is not always open to the public, but it is extremely suggestive. It is said that San Bernardino spent some time here in retreat. After a short break to eat and rest, I continued my journey, still enjoying the landscape shrouded in fog, which almost seemed like a sea. Crossing the olive groves remaining in this area, I completed my route. On the way back, I retraced the same path without taking new photos, also because otherwise, I would have bored you with the same ones, and finally reached the parking lot where I had left the car to go home. I hope you enjoyed the photos I shared here. Despite often repeating this route, each walk offers me unique landscapes and moments. However, I can't wait for summer to arrive since walking in this weather is a bit challenging. See you soon!
I didn't encounter anyone else braving the frost like me!!
I believe, but I wouldn't want to be mistaken, that it opens on the first Sunday of each month, thanks to volunteers who take care of it.
