WHEN YOU FEEL ENTITLED

No matter how little it may be, there is this joy that comes with earning money for yourself without having to beg someone else first or basically doing something for yourself. So many times we are so comfortable asking those around us to assist us with every penny that we need and sometimes we become victims of entitlement. Since we always get what we want, we end up thinking that we do deserve it and when it doesn't come at some point, we can even get mad at the person who refused to give us what we asked for.

It's very easy to feel entitled especially when things just keeps going the way you want it to and just for once it goes south, we start feeling like that shouldn't have happened and we can even go further to explain how Worthy we are to get such favors from people or situations. On the other hand, there are some of us that hate even asking for anything no matter what we may be going through. We even prefer to die than ask someone of something.

Either ways, non of them is healthy for us as humans because in this life we all do need each other to survive but then we must understand that people come and people go. To those people who are opportune to have a friend or family member who has been with them for over 15 years and more, I'm very sure there is starting to be this sort of entitlement you feel around them.

I've seen a case where these two friends lived with each other all through their stay in the university but after they graduated and went their separate ways although they are still close friends, when one of them wanted to get married, she asked her other friend to be her bride maid but she had to decline because she was not going to be around at the time of her wedding.

The friend was so hurt and disappointed because they've said a lot of things of how they were going to be there for each other at their marriages. Well, the truth is, no matter how hard the friend tried to blame her friend, she came to realize that it was beyond her friend's power if not she would have definitely made it there for her wedding. At some point I was also trying to think of how the friend who wasn't able to be there for her best friend was feeling, I'm sure it wasn't good at all.

We all should learn how to stop feeling entitled to things or people's attention because no matter how hard they or we try, one day they won't be there for us and we also won't be there for them but that doesn't mean in anyway that neither of us care less for each other. We are lucky when we have someone helping us out all the time when we need help for them but then always be prepared for the day when they can't give you what you want because it's definitely going to happen.

Thank you so much for reading through, I'm glad you stopped by.

I mean, I'd be hurt to not have the ones dearest to be around me on very special days, but it must be just as difficult for them as well. But that's life: things don't always happen as we want them to.

Thank you for reminding me of this, Hope. I found this gem on Dreemport.

If I am the one, I will understand.
Because life happens and comes with a lot.

This reminds me of my friend(the bride) crying because the Aunty couldn't come on time to her wedding.

She didn't come on time but she came? Well, people are different and lucky you are not one to feel entitled especially in something like that.

Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving your thought 🥰

You know during church service, they usually ask for the bride's parents and it was the Aunty that was supposed to represent her.

As for me I won't cry for something like that oo

You are welcome dear

ohh, that her case is not based on entitlement, it was an agreement and her Aunt was to blame a little but since we don't know why she didn't make it there on time, it's understandable.

Very wonderful reflection. Nothing compares to being able to earn our own money and have that independence

I have to learn to learn how to accept anything that comes my way with joy. People have the right to say no to us even if they seem to occupy key positions in our lives. To help or support others is a choice and not a right. So when someone refuses to support us, it shouldn't be a big deal.

Exactly how it should be son but sometimes we just can't accept things that way.

Thank you so much stopping by and for leaving such a beautiful contribution 🥰
