CONSIDER THE LITTLE THINGS
Knowing one's weather can be quite helpful in a lot of things but these days in my own part of the world, it's becoming something very alarming. Towards the end of last year, we all expected the harmattan season to come but then to our greatest surprise, it was no where to be found, although some places felt it.
Normally, the harmattan season is supposed to be a period that is dried and cool at the same time, we did experience the dryness to an extent but the coolness was no where to be found. Well, we kept thinking it was a joke and then we discovered it wasn't a joke at all. The harmattan would come whenever it liked and all it brought was catarrh and cough nothing else.
Well, who's to blame for that? It is humans of course, including myself and everyone, hehe. Mankind has always tried to prove a point and in the process of doing that, they end up destroying the things that are there to keep them safe and of course they are suffering for it but then the saddest part is, amidst all of these, some people are still yet to learn how to do the right thing instead they keep making others follow in their footsteps (me included).
By this time here in Nigeria, it is suppose to be a cool and a bit dried season expecting the rainy season but it's as if that's farfetched as it stands. The human activities have affected the climate change to the point that even our weather condition has changed and that isn't good at all because for most of us here in Nigeria, we are already used to the former climate and some people are definitely going to find it hard to adjust but they don't have a choice.
The weather change is not a good one at all because it caused so many of us to fall ill and it also gave almost everyone sleepless nights due to the hotness. At least it would have been a little compensating if we had electricity in our different homes but that was also a major problem. The hotness of the weather has lasted over 6 weeks now and it wasn't easy for anyone that I know of.
Most of the human activities are the major cause of this weather change and that is to show how hard it will be for things to ever get better because humans are just too uncontrollable. It will only take self-realization for things to get better if not, as long as humans have their ways, it would be impossible for things to get better.
But then, no matter how hard a problem might seem to be, there is always going to be a solution. The problem of the change in climate is due to human activities and now that we know the problem, I think it is a bit easier to look for a solution. First we have to be intentional as individuals, waiting for someone to tell us the right thing before we do it shouldn't be the case.
The effect of keeping a dirty environment and also unnecessary burning of things has always been a problem but some humans have just taken delight in doing things basically as they want it without thinking about others or mother Earth at least. If people can know what is right and do it, things will definitely get better but it seems like everyone is waiting for the next person before they start doing what they need to do.
And finally, I think the government of the day can also help in this regards by enacting laws that will carry huge consequences for defaulters who don't take the environment seriously by their activities. If people are punished for doing something wrong, they will learn better because no one likes to be punished therefore they will try their best to avoid the punishment as much as they can.
This is my response to the Hivelearners topic on "How's The Weather?"
The weather is hot and crazy. When I was younger I do think people suffer so much in the hands of the government but now I call this the real suffering. The weather is not even helping matter. Someone said the last Nigerian that entered hell fire didn't close the door properly hahaha.
The heat was really something else that it was the major topic of discussion almost everywhere.
The person did locked the door (if ever the story is true) but we as humans we are the ones making here a living hell for ourselves.
Thank you so much for stopping by dear, I'm glad you stopped by ❤️
The change Begins with us, most of the time Human factors contributes to all this Hazard
Not most for me though, I feel it's all the time and yes, change begins with me 🥰.
Thank you so much for stopping by Drey 🤗
You have hit those many crannies. Truly, the harmattan season wasn't felt at all. Through out December which was supposed to be the beginning of it, it never came. It was just few days in the month of January we felt what looked like it. All these are as a result of the damages caused by human.
Everything still bounds back to the government, it's only by setting out some laws that many things can be taken into consideration as far as we humans are concerned.
I'm so glad you could relate with my own point on this topic ma'am and yes if only the government will just do something, I know things will be a lot better..
The weather is really hot over here
It's hot almost every where. I can't remember the last time I bathed real cold water
Honestly, people thought it was a joke. Perhaps there is a camera hiding somewhere 😂. The change was too rapid. It was later on that I heard it was tagged as a heatwave.
I still feed in a very sane country, this should have been detected or forecasted way before the wave hit us. We would have been better prepared for it.
Truly, we can ignore the fact that our rate of environmental pollution and degradation contributed to this situation. I do not think I have experienced something like this all my life. Hopefully, measures will be put in place to reduce adverse environmental impact and things work to some extent. Again, hopefully.
Truly
Change begins with us
Yes dear 🥰
