A PEEK TO MY MIND: MY MIND, MY REALITY

(Edited)

Have you ever felt like you don’t deserve whatever it is you have today? Or the situation you find yourself, do you feel you deserve better or less? Well, I’m very sure you’ve had these thoughts even though you didn’t let that thought sprout out. Our minds is a whole multiverse of its own. It is capable of always giving us the worst of what we wish for deep down even without knowing it. You are what you think. A lot of those inspiration writers say that phrase and I have been trying to fully grasp the whole idea and now I think I’m beginning to make more sense of it.

When they say someone become what they think, a lot of times we will want to disagree with this because we think that our mind will do a filtering of our thoughts and give us the best one or something but sweetheart, that’s not how it works. Your mind has so many doors that your thoughts are capable of unlocking so the big question is, Hope, what are you thinking about? Just like so many people out there, I let my thoughts wander freely and it gets harder and harder to tame what I think about and I keep letting it open different doors in my mind. But interestingly, it helped me understand the kind of things I have been feeding my mind with and the kind of person I can become.

I’m not sure what got me to create so many doors in my mind but there are almost infinite doors and every time I unlock any door, I see a part of my life that I have either wished for so bad not to happen or something I have at a desperate point in my life wished for to happen. There was one thing I told myself this morning as I stood up to use the toilet, it was, Hope, be careful of the things you wish for. The moment you make a wish, it is registered and then, another door is created in your mind, ready to be opened. The next time you get a similar thought, that door automatically unlocks and that’s how we sometimes even feel like we have Deja vu.

Even as you read this, to me, it is a reminder too. As humans, we try to feel or even believe we are smart but guess what, no matter how smart you are, you can’t lie to yourself. If you are so skilled at lying to others, you can never lie to yourself. Whatever it is you can think of, good or bad, you can become. It is just a matter of time and your mind will prove that to you. Now, bearing that in mind, you see the reason why you just have to be careful what you think of. Because whether you like it or not, your mind hardly ever forgets. So, the best way to make your mind forget, it’s by accepting that you have had those thoughts before and make a reset.

Running away from the thought will only make your life more complicated and less meaningful. As much as you can, always be truthful to yourself because that’s the only way to overcome. When something is hard for you, be honest with yourself that it is hard and only then will you be able to find a solution to it. Like I said earlier, your mind is always more focused on those little hidden things about yourself that you think of every now and then for a brief moment. Never underestimate any thoughts you have had or are having as it has the power to change your whole reality.

Yes, I might not be deserving of the things I have or the people I’m with, but then I have them already and I will cherish them as much as I can and stop letting myself think that I don’t deserve them. If it is a bad situation or a bad habit, I will strive to make a reset by acknowledging that I’m in a bad place. Sometimes, it’s hard to meditate on the actual things you want to meditate on and that’s why sometimes it’s best to write down the things you want and then it becomes easier to keep meditating on the right thoughts but like I mentioned, never try to lie to yourself. The best way is to always acknowledge your thoughts and only then can you work on them.

I really hope someone reads this and grasp the message because it came out of a place in my mind that wishes to make things better for me. My mind has been on the loose for too long and I pray and not just wish to be able to manage these thoughts by accepting them and making the necessary resets.

Thanks for reading through. ❤️
