A LITTLE SAVE

InShot_20240325_231540632.jpg

Sometimes it feels like the more I try to curb some expenses the more it seems harder to. Staying in a place like Nigeria has been a challenge to helping me spend minimally but that's not an excuse at all but then I do believe and know that things would have been a lot easier if only my country was helping matters in some areas.

Lately we've been spending so much in purchasing petrol for generator since we need the power to charge up our devices. Initially we do have electricity once in a while which was quite manageable but then recently we got cut off from our prepaid meter due to the fact that we weren't the only ones making use of it and it wasn't proper that way.

We will have to go to the power office to rectify whatever may be wrong and seek for a way forward but somehow we haven't been able to go to the office because my dad who is suppose to go has been occupied with work and it's so hard to make out time for that purpose. But then we've only been spending even more and more on petrol.

Since we are mostly online, we need the power so it's almost hard to cut the expenses of getting petrol to put on the generator. Normally we get close to $3 worth of Petrol everyday and so far so good it is quite enough to always keep us active but in a more limiting way because we have to manage what we have so we don't run into making use of more Petrol on a daily basis.

Recently I've tried to limit my activities online just so I don't exceed the budget for the day and still keep my devices active. It has been hard for me because it's so unlike me but then this has given me the opportunity to learn how to manage what I have even more and I've also gotten more opportunity to rest more.

Well, I can't keep going on like this and the only way out now is to get a new power bank which will help me conserve power for those times when we will be out of electricity and that can help me stay more active doing what I want to do. I do know that if things continue this way, I'd loss so many opportunities and that's the last thing I want now.

I'd be going to school soon and I will be needing more income as much as I can and I want to make sure I keep working to get myself a good income to help me sustain a comfortable life in my new environment. The Inflation is getting higher by the day so reducing the amount of expenses is something that we just have to do and I'm trying my best to do so too.

Expenses will definitely come up but there is always a way to cut down some expenses and I believe the best way I can cut down the cost is by getting a new power bank since the old one is no longer functioning as it should.

Honestly, it is really difficult to curb one’expenses in a place Nigeria. I can totally relate to this electricity issue. I’m currently dealing with this issue here and even in school. How do I survive? I have two power banks and two systems. So whenever I put on the generator, I charge all my gadgets.

I hope things will change for the better as soon as possible.

You have a really good way to curb yours but then no matter what, as long as the electricity problem is not fixed, we are bound the have a day when everything will just go off 🤦.

I'm glad you have everything under control to an extent. Mine is almost the opposite

We believe God @justfavour . Things will definitely fall into place again in Nigeria. Our prayers will never go unheard . Happy mid-week.

Sorry about the electricity, I hope it gets resolved in good time. Getting an extra source of income is a necessity in these times. More grace🙏🏽

Without electricity, it's indeed difficult to perform many tasks. I am just wondering how tough the situation you are facing for the lack of electricity. Moreover, it's bringing extra cost for you. In the time of inflation, it's like a double blow. I just hope the situation will be improved soon.

Yeah, the inflation is not helping out at all but I guess we just have to keep moving and finding a way around it.

Thank you so much for stopping by partner 🥰.

The electricity situation is sad in your country, and I'm sure that it brings on added stress. Overall, you seem to be cutting back in many areas, and evaluating different areas where you can tighten your budget. That's a good practice, and the best that's in your country. All good wishes, and I do trust that things will improve:)

It's really sad to the point that sometimes we just find it strange when things are going well because we aren't use to it 😂. Well like you have said, it's definitely going to improve and I believe it will so until then I'd just keep trying to cut down cost as much as I can.

I'm glad to have you stop by and I'm happy you enjoyed reading through 🥰.

The electricity issue is something that we have no say anymore in Nigeria. We just have to procure a solution for ourselves as the Government no longer sees it as a major issue. We just hope they'll reduce the price of fuel so the average Nigerian gets to minimize cost and save a little.

Exactly, the government don't even have this problem so they won't really understand how it pains the average Nigerian. We keep hoping that the price of petrol drops but it's almost unlikely but we keep being hopeful.

Thank you so much for stopping by 🤗

You are not alone! In my own area of residence, we only get light from PHCN once or twice a week, and that for a few hours (and FYI we still don't see the light every week.

We have been spending so much on petrol for our power generator, and recently we decided to limit the use of gen to only times we need to pump water from the borehole, because my gen is big and consumes a lot of fuel.

Getting a smaller generator right now or solar panel seems to be options to consider, but prices are high.

We will just keep trying to find a way around solving these power issues.

Wow, that's even worst, I guess my situation is way better after all. This country is just not trying when it comes to the electricity of most States, I hope it gets better someday.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with me 🙂❣️

when i was a child in Mumbai these were the two problems that I saw all the time, power cuts and water shortage. And i learnt to live with paucity of both. For the water issue the learnings were good as it does help to conserve water even when we have a lot of it now. For the power it was easier in my childhood as not a lot of our lives depended on power. the only issue was it would get very hot and humid. However as you pointed out in your essay today it is different. A fundamental part of our life which is the internet completely depends on power and without it one feels handicapped to be a part of today's society. In India we were lucky that despite corruption in politics they did end up working on the infrastructure which allowed for better situation with power, at least in the cities; and better situation with water (at least for time being) I pray that better sense prevails in your country's executives too, and they make basic infra better even if they want to be corrupt about it.

Cheers from a fellow #dreemerforlife

You're right, there was a time when electricity wasn't a problem because so many weren't into the internet but now it's a total different story.

I hope my government put an end to this someday and I'm happy to know you are not having a problem like that.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful contribution, it's a pleasure having you stop by 🥰

Yes I do have a power bank but even when I put on the generator it still doesn't charge as it normally does and that's why I'm looking for a way to get a new one.

Really I believe everyone needs a power bank because we don't know what situation we might find ourselves someday.

Thank you so much for your contribution 🥰

Yours is much better, in my area we stayed for like six months without light, they said the transformer had issues and we contributed money for it but they left us till they had our time

Wow, that's what we experienced at our old place, we lived there for good solid 1 year without electricity and it was really crazy but at least then the price of fuel was lesser.

I hope our government find a lasting solution to this somehow.

Thank you so much for stopping by and Sharing your own experience 🥰

The issue of electricity I. Nigeria is like another form of COVID 19 pandemic. I remember when i went to Abeokuta that was when I realised lagosians are still enjoying. I had no choice but to go to the store to purchase a 50000Mah power bank. It has been serving me ever since.

I believe getting a power bank is the Only way to avoid the inconveniences that comes with the issues of electricity.

Its really unbearable sis. The worst is the food items, then data ad information is important as the air we breath.

As for the power, it’s important you guys sort it out because $3 is way too much everyday. Take the bull by the horns and go to power holding to sort out things with them. Power bank may fail you once in a while.

Definitely the power bank is already failing me 🤦. I will try my best to go to the office but the other problem is I don't even know where it is but knowing it won't be much of a headache though.

Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving your contribution 🥰
