| Last June 21, 2024 was an epic day for the crew and the skaters of the city in general. Go Skate Day had arrived and Salado Skateboards along with Bowleros lokos collaborated to create an amazing concrete wave perfect for wallride lovers. The designated spot for this DIY was a super underground river in the city called Las Libres. Commonly, for this date of June 21, some people involved with the state government organize an event, some times a competition and in other ocations a collective ride through the city has being done, all this with the aim of skaters sharing this day of the year, which always brings new emotions with it and year after year there is no evolution in local support for skateboarding, since, in massive events, only one or two decks are given away among hundreds of skaters in the city. In fact, government support and the possibility of brands supporting these events with merchandise is going in the opposite direction, even though local skaters are getting better and better and have continued to make significant progress in recent years, this year no event would have been organized if it hadn't been for us, and since we only had support from a few clothing brands, we only gave a few items of clothing, meaning not even a deck was given away, which makes me sad, but deep inside and trying to see the positive side out of this, it fills me with satisfaction the fact that I believe that we all did this purely for the love that we have for skateboarding, I am sure that this feeling is the spark that will make skateboarding prevail here in Guanajuato, despite not being able to be a self-sustaining activity at this time. On the other hand, it is also worth to mention that most of the parks where we practice are, in some way, poorly designed, goberment literally wasted the place where an optimal spot could be made for the development of beginner skaters. | El pasado 21 de junio del 2024 fue un día épico para el crew y los patinadores de la ciudad en general. El Go Skate Day había llegado y Salado Skateboards junto con Bowleros lokos colaboraron para crear una ola de concreto alucinante para cualquier amante de los wallrides. El spot designado para este DIY fue un río super underground de la ciudad llamado las liebres. Comúnmente, para esta fecha del 21 de junio, algunas personas involucradas con el gobierno del estado organizan algún evento, ya sea una competencia o una rodada colectiva por la ciudad, todo con el fin de que los patinadores convivamos este día del año, que siempre trae nuevas emociones consigo y que año tras año no se ve alguna evolución en el apoyo local al skateboarding, pues, en los eventos masivos, solo se regalan una o dos tablas entre cientos de patinadores que hay en la ciudad. De hecho el apoyo gubernamental y la posibilidad de las marcas de apoyar con mercancía en estos eventos, va yendo en sentido contrario, a pesar de que los patinadores locales somos cada vez mejores y hemos seguido progresando de forma significante los últimos años, este año no se hubiese organizado ningún evento, de no haber sido por nosotros, y como no tuvimos apoyo más que de unas cuantas marcas de ropa, solo dimos unas cuantas prendas de vestir, o sea que no se regalo ni una tabla, lo que me pone triste, pero en el fondo y buscándole el lado positivo a la situación actual del skateboarding en este estado, me llena de satisfacción ya que me hace creer que todos lo hicimos y asistimos netamente por el amor al skateboarding, estoy seguro que este sentimiento es la chispa que hará prevalecer el skateboarding aquí en Gto, a pesar de no poder ser una actividad autosustentable en el estado en este momento. Por otro lado, también cabe mencionar que la mayoría de los parques en que practicamos están, de alguna forma, mal diseñados, literalmente se desaprovecho el lugar donde se pudo hacer un spot optimo para el desarrollo de los patinadores principiantes. |

Maybe we will have to put our salaries to achieve things like this, maybe there will be those who see doing this as bad or illegal, maybe we will have legal problems for this, maybe we will never be financed by the state and maybe we will never attract the attention of big established brands that want to support this cause, maybe this will only be marked in a simple memory, maybe this will only reach here, none of this matters, because that day I felt the power of unity that the skateboard has, and I am sure that that feeling of integration with My surroundings will forever resonate in the heart of the universe, unfolding happiness and joy from here to the hereafter. | Surfeando contra marea fue que nos dimos cuenta que la única forma de lograr esta ola que nos pone en frente el mar de la vida, es a través de nuestra propia energía, creando y materializando por nuestra cuenta las ideas de spots que queremos patinar, nadie va hacer nada por nuestra gran pasión, pues realmente somos nosotros quienes sentimos algo muy profundo al patinar y nadie más. Quizá tendremos que poner de nuestros sueldos para lograr cosas como esta, quizá haya quien vea mal o ilegal el hacer esto, quizá podremos tener problemas legales por esto, quizá nunca seremos financiados por el estado y quizás nunca llamemos la atención de grandes marcas consolidadas que quieran apoyar a esta causa, quizá esto solo quede marcado en un simple recuerdo, quizá esto solo llegue hasta aquí, nada de esto importa, pues ese día sentí el poder de unidad que tiene la patineta, y estoy seguro que ese sentimiento de integración con mi entorno resonara por siempre en el corazón del universo, desplegando dicha y alegría desde aquí, hasta el más allá. |

| @mangoramp studied architecture for 2 years at university and now a days he works in state's public works with his father, this has made him very skilled in construction and he is willing to work hard for local skateboarding. Although his plan was not professional at all, when creating the ramps his great skills with the tools and the cement mixture became noticeable so together with a bricklayer friend, they were the inspectors of the work, leading a group of skaters who knew nothing about construction, but were willing to do anything to create this ramps that promised extremely feelings and fun adventures. | @mangoramp estudió 2 años de arquitectura en la universidad y hoy en día trabaja en obras publicas del estado con su padre, esto lo ha hecho muy hábil en la construcción y está dispuesto a sacarle el máximo provecho en pro del skateboarding local. Aquí podemos apreciar que a pesar de que su plano no era del todo profesional, al momento de crear las rampas sus grandes habilidades con la herramienta y la mezcla de cemento pronto se dieron a notar y junto con un amigo albañil fueron los inspectores de la obra, liderando a un grupo de skaters que no sabían nada de construcción, pero estaban dispuestos a lo que sea con tal de crear esta rampa que desde el boceto prometía aventuras sumamente interesantes y divertidas. |

| Without a doubt, June 21, 2024 will be a day that all local skaters will remember with great joy and satisfaction. Several skaters attended to our call and we had an afternoon full of adrenaline, excitement, music, and above all, good company around peaople that understand each other. We realize that when it comes to skateboarding, the best thing to do is organizing ourselves our own events, instead of leaving things to people who cannot be called real skaters as the goverment. We are the ones who live in this environment, so We know the needs of the skaters around and we are willing to have a positive effect on our community. This event was a proof that with a little budget, but with great ingenuity, the most unexpected spaces in the city can be well use and hundreds of people who are willing to have a good time developing the practice of skateboarding can be brought together optimally. | Sin duda alguna el 21 de junio del 2024 será un día que todos los skaters locales recordaremos con gran alegría y satisfacción, pues varios patinadores acudieron a nuestro llamado y así tuvimos una tarde llena de adrenalina, ilusión, música, y sobre todo, buena compañía. Nos damos cuenta que cuando se trata de skateboarding, lo mejor es organizarnos entre nosotros como patinadores, en vez de dejarle las cosas a la gente que no puede ser denominada como skaters reales, pues nosotros somos los que vivimos en este ambiente, por lo que sabemos de las necesidades de la banda y estamos dispuestos a tener un efecto positivo en nuestra comunidad. Este evento fue la muestra de que con un poco de presupuesto, pero con un gran ingenio, pueden ser bien aprovechados los espacios más inesperados de la ciudad y pueden lograrse juntar cientos de personas que están dispuestas a pasar un buen rato desarrollando la practica del skateboarding óptimamente. |
