Home Education Curation Collection. 20th July 2024

I didn't realise it had been a month since the last curation. I feel like time got away from me! I know I've missed a few posts as well, so my apologies for that.

I'm going to do the beneficiaries a little differently this time with 20% going to @isabeldokl for a fantastic post that unfortunately got missed for the curation window.

I'll start with that lovely post from @isabeldokl that somehow slipped through the cracks. She shares the lapbook she made with her mother. I recall when I was so homeschooling my girls that lapbooks were a popular learning tool for homeschoolers. Have you done any with your students?

Speaking of slipping through the cracks, it seems @leomarylm's youngest daughter wasn't doing the reading she thought she was in school, so she decided that the holidays would be a good time to catch up. She shares some fun reading ideas. I'm big on educational approaches that keep learning fun for children so that they don't get put off and keep their love of it.

Have you ever joined a homeschooling co-op? We didn't have much opportunity for things like this when I was homeschooling my girls, so I enjoy @apanamamama sharing her family's experiences with them. In the most recent one they learnt about Monet and tried recreating his famous water lilies painting

Seeing @taliakerch's son's first soft toy creation certainly brought back memories for me. Handwork was one of my favourite classes as a child and I think it can give a child a great feeling of accomplishment to be able to make something like this themselves.

A thought provoking post came from @ingridontheroad. She discusses how potential learning opportunities can come from anywhere, after seeing a missed opportunity to discuss farming, where our food comes from and more.

Thank you for joining us. This curation was brought to you by @minismallholding and this week I have added @mattclarke as 10% beneficiary for the ongoing delegation support. Thank you!
