Welle Devalaya - unawathuna.

Good day to all my HIVE friends.
The Welle Devalaya is located about 10 km away from here, next to the world-famous Unawatuna Beach. Its annual festival season started two days ago, featuring colorful celebrations, spiritual renewal, and cultural activities. Yesterday, we visited the Welle Devalaya with my children and family members.
It is located on a beautiful beach and has a lively carnival atmosphere. Some people come here for fun, while others participate in various pujas. The festival of cultural heritage unfolds, blending traditional and modern elements.

This is a spiritual temple with many years of history and great importance. It was illuminated with vibrant colors and decorations, attracting visiting devotees. The festival season at Welle Devalaya begins in a carnival-like fashion that extends to the famous Unawatuna Beach and surrounding areas.

Beyond spiritual activities, there were numerous stalls and shops lining the streets, offering fashion items, toys for small children, and handicrafts. We found ourselves increasingly interested in them, and my child began to look closely at these items. A large number of people from nearby villages and cities participated in this event. The proximity of the sea added to the beauty and attraction of the place. Although I took pictures there, the clarity is less due to the darkness.
And it was filled with delicious aromas of delicacies. From spicy snacks to sweet treats, there was no shortage of food. This season, the income of the merchants was rich.

From its cultural aspects, traditional dances captivated the audience. On the last day of the Welle Devalaya festival, a grand deva puja is performed, showcasing the unity of the people. This puja involves everyone present, offering a sense of shared experience and the importance of unity.

There is a belief that the rituals performed in the temple during the festival season of Welle Devalaya will bring hope and auspicious things into people's lives. That's why so many people come here. I was not able to take pictures of the temple due to the crowd. We went near the temple and then headed towards the beach, where we enjoyed a meal with our loved ones.

The annual festival season of the Welle Devalaya is a traditional ritual that is dear to the people of the area. Everyone enjoyed this year's festival. So leaving memories here, we left for home after a short walk. Photographs were taken from my mobile phone and a brother's phone. So have a good day.
