My Journey Through the City Book Fair.

Good evening to all my Hive friends!

This weekend, specifically this morning, my child and I headed out early to attend the much-anticipated book fair at the Galle Fort Butterfly Stadium. Although there was a light drizzle, we still made our way to the fair with the main purpose of finding the books needed for my child’s school term. This event draws in book lovers, families, and students alike, and even when we arrived, there was already a large crowd gathered.

Once we arrived, it was hard to decide which books to buy! From world literature to educational materials and children’s books, this year’s book fair was filled with an incredible variety. Unlike previous years, it also featured an impressive number of large vendor stalls.

Readers strolled through the aisles lined with shelves overflowing with books, each offering a new world to explore, filling the atmosphere with excitement. The Butterfly Stadium, usually a venue for leisure, was entirely dedicated to knowledge and learning today.

As we moved through the vendor stalls, we found the textbooks needed for my child’s school, along with several collections of new novels and short stories. We eagerly purchased them, recognizing the importance of nurturing a love for reading from a young age. It was heartening to see many parents happily exploring these sections, understanding the value of fostering reading habits. Watching families encourage their children to discover new stories and knowledge brought joy to the experience.

When I visited, I initially planned to buy a few books, but the higher prices made it difficult to purchase them. They were valuable books, covering a wide range of topics—from history and science to practical skills, art, and cooking. Although I couldn’t buy them all, this visit was still meaningful because it allowed me to discover new books and expand my knowledge. So, with that, I’ll say goodbye for now and look forward to sharing another adventure with you soon!

Thank you reading
Have A nice day.
Best Regards,

Samadi Madushanki
