Let's make delicious jam from wood-apple at home very easily.
Good morning to all my dear friends on Hive! How are you doing? These days, wood apple is a fruit commonly seen in Sri Lanka. Wood apple is a nutritious fruit, rich in flavor and packed with health benefits. Most often, it's enjoyed as a juice. However, making wood apple jam at home is also a simple and rewarding process.
The first and most important step in preparing wood apple jam is selecting ripe fruit. Ripe wood apples have a fragrant aroma and a firm, brownish color. Choosing the right fruit enhances the taste significantly. So, before we begin making this delicious jam, let's take a look at the step-by-step process to understand the basics better.
For this recipe, I used a 1 medium-sized wood apple. If you're planning to make it, you can adjust the quantity as needed. The great thing about this jam is that it can be prepared using just two basic ingredients, making the process incredibly simple.
Required Ingredients...
🍀 1 medium-sized wood apple.
🍀 Water 200ml.
🍀 Sugar as needed.
Method of making....
First, I scooped out the pulp of the wood apple and added it to a bowl. Then, I poured around 200ml of water into the bowl. I mixed it well by hand until the pulp was thoroughly combined with the water.
Next, I strained the wood apple juice through a sieve into a bowl to remove any solid particles.
Next, place the strained wood apple juice on the stove and let it heat up. Stir continuously during the process to ensure it thickens evenly as it heats.
As the wood apple juice begins to boil, add the required amount of sugar and continue stirring. Keep mixing until the mixture thickens to your desired consistency.
Next, once the mixture has thickened to the right consistency, remove it from the heat and transfer it to a container. Allow it to cool down completely, and then it's ready to be served.
Now, this delicious Divul (Wood Apple) jam has been easily prepared without any artificial flavorings. It can be enjoyed on its own or added to meals. You can spread it on roti, bread, or biscuits for a delightful snack. The combination of sweetness and the unique tanginess enhances its flavor even more. If you have wood apples available, I encourage you to try making this yourself.

Have A nice day.
