A Day of Tranquility at Rumassala Japanese Peace Pagoda.

Good evening, HIVE friends!

This morning, I took a peaceful retreat to the Japanese Peace Pagoda at Rumassala, the most tranquil spot along the coastline where I live. Surrounded by lush forests and offering stunning views of the vast ocean, this pagoda is truly breathtaking. Located just 3 km from Galle town, we saw many foreign visitors on our way. Gazing upon the serene Rumassala forest feels like discovering a hidden gem; it provides a calming sensation that refreshes both body and mind. Immersed in the purity of this beautiful Buddhist monument and nature itself, today was the perfect day to embrace the serenity it offers.

The Japanese Peace Pagoda is located on the hilltop of Rumassala, a short distance from Galle. It offers visitors an extraordinary natural experience, enriched by ancient legends and remarkable natural beauty. One prominent legend says that this mountain was created by the monkey god Hanuman, who, according to some ancient texts and beliefs in India, dropped a piece of the Himalayas here, making it a mystical part of the Rumassala region today. This serene place provides a peaceful escape from the bustling world, inviting visitors to experience its tranquil charm.

As we reached the pagoda, we were immediately drawn to the radiant, white-painted structure symbolizing the timeless pursuit of enlightenment. Surrounding this beautiful stupa, we noticed several statues depicting the life of the Buddha, each one representing stages of his journey and teachings. The view from the pagoda offered a clear and captivating sight of the vast depths of the ocean, enhancing the serene and contemplative atmosphere of the place.
