Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge: Neutral Monsters Belong to All Summoners
Hello Splinterlands lovers and players across the world, how are you doing today? I hope you are finding it interesting to play Splinterlands.
This is a good Monday for us, I believe you all have submitted your battle mage secrets weekly challenge. If you have done so, you still have time to submit. After today, curators in Splinterlands will not be able to vote for your post. Which simply means today is the last day to submit your battle mage secrets weekly challenge for last week.

There are many things I have learned from this battle mage secrets weekly challenge posts. I have read many authors in Splinterlands and I have used their strategies; and it worked very well for me.
In fact, there were some rules that I don't know the best strategies for. After reading various strategies and watching many videos of those particular rules, I got the perfect strategies for them.
This is the reason I don't joke with battle mage secrets weekly challenge posts.

Taking Sides rule is not new to me in Splinterlands. Taking Sides rule doesn't allow the use of neutral monsters in battles. Therefore, when you come across 'taking sides', erase neutral monsters from your mind because you won't see them in that particular battle for selection.
In this battle I'm about to share, if neutral monsters were given, there was a particular neutral monster I would have used.
The name of the monster is Doctor Blight; I love this monster because of the poison and affliction abilities.

There are always alternatives for monsters when your best monsters are not available. I was happy to see Captain Ghost; at least, it afflicted opponent monsters.

🔥🔥Rulesets🔥🔥
I was given three rules in this battle. Therefore, I need to use my head in order to emerge victorious.
They are:

Keep your Distance: Monsters with melee attack may not be used.
With this rule, there was no melee monster that was available for this battle. Without this rule, I would have used an opportunity monster with melee attack. The moment I saw keep your distance, I knew that melee monsters would not be available.
Therefore, I have to use what I have.

Old Ones Out: Only monsters with odd mana costs may be used.
Only monsters with odd mana costs were available such as 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11. There was no monster with even mana. That is what this rule meant.

Taking Sides: Neutral monsters may not be used.
Neutral monsters are monsters that are available for any summoner in Splinterlands. Neutral monsters such as Furious Chicken, Doctor Blight, Creepy Ooze and many more.
Neutral monsters belong to all summoners; they are not for a particular monster in Splinterlands. That is the reason they are available for all summoners. They are not like fire monsters that belong to fire summoners alone; which no summoner can use.

🔥🔥Summoner 🔥🔥
Alric Stormbringer

Summoner: Water
Level: 4⭐⭐⭐⭐
Ability: +1 magic attack
Mana: 3
The summoner gave me an additional magic attack. If I mistakenly used another summoner without an additional magic attack, I would have been defeated because my opponent used a summoner that reduced the magic attack of my monsters.
Without Alric Stormbringer, my magic monsters would have reduced to 1 and 2 magic attacks. It wouldn't have gotten force to destroy my opponent monsters.

🔥🔥Monsters Arrangement🔥🔥
Nerissa Tridawn

Splinter: Water
Level: 2⭐⭐
Speed: 2
Health: 10
Attack: Magic
Mana: 9
There was no way I would use Djinn Oshannus. Djinn Oshannus was my best monster to use in the front position since melee monsters were not allowed in the battle.
But, Djinn Oshannus was not available because it is a monster with even mana costs. That was the reason it was not available in this battle.
Nerissa Tridawn was the only monster with the highest health available for me. Hence, I needed a monster that would stay longer than expected and that was the reason I selected Nerissa Tridawn as the monster in the first position.

Captain Ghost

Splinter: Water
Level: 3⭐⭐⭐
Speed: 2
Health: 8
Ability: Affliction
Attack: Magic
Mana: 7
This battle reminded me of a player I encountered. Due to my failure of using a monster with affliction ability, I was defeated. O knew if I had used a monster with poisoning or affliction ability, I would have won the battle.
The lesson I learned from that battle made me be vigilant while selecting monsters for battles; and that was the reason I selected Captain Ghost to afflict opponent monsters in this battle.
I was pretty sure that if Nerissa Tridawn was eliminated, Captain Ghost would be able to withstand opponent attack.

Venari Wavesmith

Splinter: Water
Level: 4⭐⭐⭐⭐
Speed: 3
Health: 4
Ability: Protect
Attack: Magic
Mana: 5
I needed the 'protect' ability in this battle. I knew that my opponent would use range monsters because there was availability of using range monsters in this battle. The reason I used 'protect' was to prevent ranged monsters from attacking the health directly.
My opponent also knew that I would use 'protect' in this battle. Therefore, he used 'rust' to reduce the armor. That was the reason my monsters did not have any armor until Noa the just was eliminated.

Water Elemental

Splinter: Water
Level: 4⭐⭐⭐⭐
Speed: 5
Health: 6
Ability: Healing
Attack: Range
Mana: 5
The speed and the range attack made me select Water Elemental. Water Elemental was the first monster to attack; it attacked coastal Nymph, damaging her armors.
The speed was the major reason for selecting Water Elemental in this battle.

Merdaali Guardian

Splinter: Water
Level: 2⭐⭐
Speed: 3
Health: 3
Ability; Tank heal
Attack: None
Mana: 3
One of the important monsters to use: without the Merdaali Guardian, Nerissa Tridawn wouldn't have lasted in this battle. It would have been eliminated at the beginning of round two.
Continuous increase of Nerissa Tridawn's health was the reason it was eliminated.

Swamp Spitter

Splinter: Water
Level: 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Speed: 3
Health: 5
Ability: Repair
Armor: 2
Attack: Range
Mana: 7
I thought Venari Wavesmith would give additional 2 armor to all friendly monsters which would have given Swamp Spitter the opportunity to keep repairing the armor of the first monster.
The presence of Noa the just couldn't make this plan work out the way I wanted it.
Until Noa the just was eliminated, that was when the armor was returned. When the armor returned, it made my monsters stronger, especially Nerissa Tridawn. Therefore, the opponent's Swamp Spitter could not attack her health directly.

🔥🔥Round One🔥🔥

Water Elemental was the first monster to attack because of his high speed; then, followed by Venari Wavesmith and Swamp Spitter.
Three of my monsters attacked before my opponent attacked.
Toward the beginning of round two, Coast Nymph which was the monster that led my opponent lineup was eliminated. Her elimination was due to her health, and I used three magic monsters which attacked her health directly while he only used two magic monsters.
That was the reason I was able to get rid of his monster in the first position.

🔥🔥Round Two 🔥🔥

It was round two that the first monster was defeated by me.
In round three, Noa the just was eliminated. Then, armor came back to all my monsters. It was difficult to destroy my monsters because that was the moment Swamp Spitter had a chance to repair the armor of Nerissa Tridawn.

🔥🔥Round four 🔥🔥

At round Four, Opponent's Nerissa Tridawn was eliminated: three monsters were left from my opponent while none of my Monsters were eliminated.
In the same round 4, Merdaali Guardian's opponent was eliminated.

🔥🔥Round five and Six🔥🔥

That was the final round. Both Swamp Spitter and Venari Wavesmith were eliminated in the battle.

In conclusion, the strategy worked well for me. That was the reason I was able to defeat all my opponent's monsters without a monster pulled out from my lineup. I will like to use this strategy in next time.
