Language Obstacle? Nah, It's a Language Adventure!

So, I packed my bags and left my home in the Philippines to start a new life in Japan. Boom! Instant language challenge hehehe.

I was a fish out of water, surrounded by fluent Japanese speakers at work while I could barely string a sentence together. But did I feel small? Oh, you bet I did.

But here's the kicker - this feeling didn't turn me into a shrinking violet. Nope, it was more like a friendly nudge, a wake-up call telling me, "Hey, time to up your language game!" It ignited a hunger in me to master Japanese, to dive headfirst into the whirlpool of kanji, kana, and keigo.

My coping strategy? Immersing myself in learning. I decided to turn the tables on this language barrier, flipping it from a point of insecurity to a chance for growth. It was like enrolling in a non-stop, round-the-clock language class, armed with sheer dedication and a boatload of enthusiasm.

And you know what? There wasn't a "Eureka!" moment. It was more of a slow burn, a step-by-step journey where every new word I nailed felt like a personal win. Every conversation that I managed in Japanese, however small, chipped away at that pesky feeling of inferiority. I was moving, I was growing, and it felt incredible!

What I've learned from this? Easy - with time and tenacity, there's nothing we can't conquer. It's a mantra I live by now, my secret sauce to taking on new challenges with a grin.

My two cents for those grappling with feelings of inferiority? Here goes: Don't let it get you down. Instead, think of it as a tough-love tutor pushing you to rise higher. We're problem-solvers by nature, so put on that problem-solving hat and take a swing at it!

So, here I am, living my life. The language barrier? Well, it's still there, but it doesn't loom over me like a huge, insurmountable wall anymore. It's more of a bridge now, a bridge that I'm building one Japanese phrase at a time.

The funny thing about life is that the toughest challenges often morph into the most memorable experiences. It's all about how we take on these feelings of inferiority. So here's to turning barriers into stepping stones and thriving in the face of the unknown. Let's do this!

I discovered Hive back in 2017 when I was doing my research. My goal on Hive is I want to use the stake power up to be able to help the community. I prayed to God to help me to be able to become a cheerful giver to anyone who is lacking like food, medicine, and livelihood. Hope you can follow my journey

Wow...How hard it must have been communicating when you first moved over to Japan. But I'm glad you turned the language barrier to an opportunity for growth. It is always important we see challenges as an avenue for learning and growth.
