View of Mount Everest (This post is dedicated to Pinmapple community)
Today is the last day of @pinmapple community, so to make this last day special, I saved some photos of the trip I did last month and will post them on 31st May 2024. I dedicate today's post and the world's highest mountain to pinmapple. I would like to give my best wishes to the pinmapple team and hope that all the members and core members stay healthy and do whatever they do in the future with their heart. I will miss this community a lot whenever I write a travel blog.
Kumbhakarna peak (7710 meters)
Last month when I went to Rimbik village to volunteer in a trail race, I got a task under which I had to go from Rimbik to Manebhanjan village and from there I had to take hydration for the 4 hydration points to be set up in the Shingalila National Park. I book a 4x4 car and load all the hydration I have purchased in it and take 3 more volunteers with me to Sandakphu.
Left to right: Lohtse, Everest and Lhotsy
Let me tell you that Sandakphu is the highest peak of West Bengal and its height is 3636 meters. Although the best time to visit Sandakphu is from November to February but I was there in April. Well, everything went as per my expectations, the weather was clear and like all tourists, I also saw such a beautiful view for which people from all over the country and abroad gather here.
Sandakphu is famous because from here the world's highest peak Mount Everest is visible, whose height is 8848 meters. If the weather is clear from here, then along with Everest, Lohtse, Makalu, Kanchenjunga and Choyu Peak are clearly visible. I reached Sandakphu in the evening by car, had dinner and faced a cold night in which it rained heavily throughout the night. This rain had shattered my hopes of seeing Everest but the next morning when I woke up at 5 am, I was very happy to see clear weather outside.
Kanchanjungha peak 8586m
We quickly took out all the hydration from the room and set it on a table. The first runner came to us at 05:40 in the morning. The time cutoff for runners here is only 06:30 hours, meaning any runner who does not cross Sandakphu in six and a half hours will be disqualified. All runners cross Sandakphu safely except the last two runners. I was also doing photography during the event and I go about one and a half km ahead of my station, find a good spot and click photos of the runners.
When all the runners crossed, I clicked photos of Kanchenjunga and Everest visible from here. It was a good decision of mine to bring both the cameras. Landscape photos were clicked with Sony a7iii (28-70mm) and closeups with Canon 77d (55-250mm). Since the weather was clear, a very beautiful view was visible. Coming here was worthwhile.
I still remember that day when I was clicking these photos with the camera, the only thing going on in my mind was that I will post this post in the pinmapple community, after which the members of this amazing travel community will read this post and give their comments. I would like to tell that after steemit went down, I had completely stopped writing, then one day I saw the pinmapple community while roaming on hive, by going to the map located at www.pinmapple.com and reading the posts of my favorite places, I got motivation and inspiration to start writing again.
And since March last year, I have been writing continuously and till now I have written a total of 298 posts in which I have written 56 posts. And you will believe that these 56 posts have helped the most in increasing my reputation to 71+. In the end, I would just like to say that I will miss pinmapple.
Disclaimer: This post is originally written in Hindi and I have used Google Translator to tranlate the Hindi text in English. All the photos have been clicked by me from Sony a7iii (28-70mm) and canon 77d (55-250m) and edited in Lightroom/photoshop.
