My Journey from 70 to 71 Reputation on Hive

Today I would like to congratulate myself on the happiness of reputation going from 70 to 71. In January 2018, I joined the Steemit platform and after being active for almost a year, Steemit and I got deactivated together. Then in May 2023, while scrolling on the internet, I came to know that people were writing funny posts on hive. I felt left out and to keep up with everyone, I finally joined hive and started writing.

When I came to hive from Steemit, my reputation was 62. While exploring Hive further, I learned that there is a community supporting Indians called @indiaunited. I soon followed this community on hive and discord. Some members have been active here for many years who guided me when I felt the need.

And after some time @pinmapple community came into my life which multiplied my growth on hive. Because I have been traveling in the Himalayas and other parts of India for many years, I have accumulated a lot of travel content on my hard disk. Because I am not on any other social platform other than hive, I started writing all my content here. I kept writing and the reputation increased from 62 to 70. I remember I wrote 172 posts to bring my reputation from 62 to 70. It took me 268 days to write 172 posts, which means after writing for 9 months my reputation went from 62 to 70.

Today is Monday 6th May 2024 and today my reputation has become 71. Reputation is visible at 71 on www.hiveblocks.com but it will probably take some more time to be reflected on hive.blog. The journey from 70 to 71 was very long and slow. I used to think that by posting 2 to 3 posts, the reputation would increase by 0.1 but it does not happen.

I had to write 74 posts just to increase 01 reputation. I wrote 74 posts in 95 days. The total payout on all these posts was $836 and I received 29132 upvotes during this period. This means if I want to reach 80 reputation, it will take at least 900 days, I will have to write 666 posts. I will get payout of $7524 on 666 posts and get 253188 upvotes. This is just an estimate that it may take a little more time.

Looking at the numbers, it seems that I still have a long way to go and I must not let my motivation diminish at all. Well, I did some research and understood that after reaching 80, people have to write for one and a half years to reach 81. Some people took 5 years to reach from 80 to 82.

When I remember the old days, it seemed as if I would reach 70 reputation in a few months. First write an introduction post, as soon as you get good response on it, your reputation goes from 25 to 55 at lightning speed. I think reputation should start from 0 for new users so that they don't have to wait for 10-10 years to reach 80-90.

I understand that reputation is not everything, I also understand that nothing else gives as much fun as writing here, upvoting, reading someone's post and commenting on it. I always wait for my friends' posts, sometimes I upvote and reblog without even reading and then read the post. But the fun of increasing reputation is different.

The road ahead is very long and I want to stick to it like this. Writing on Hive gives me focus in my personal life and helps me achieve my goals. Every day I take out one to one and a half hour to hive.
