What happened this week? The BTC ETFs are still not here, but they may be approved soon. ETH and BTC are bullish lately. The SEC is doing its usual BS, but Coinbase seems to be ready to tackle them further. Until they find something about them and put them to pay dearly. What else? Read below:

  • Bitcoin: As you can expect, the SEC called some of the recent Spot BTC ETF fillings inadequate, asking the asset managers to refile, citing a lack of clarity and comprehensive information. Following the feedback, many asset managers are already modifying or resubmitting their applications. BlackRock submitted an amended application, naming Coinbase as a Surveillance partner. BlackRock's CEO expressed a positive view of Bitcoin, stating that it has the potential to revolutionize finance if more assets are tokenized. Bitcoin miners experienced a significant increase in earnings due to the BRC-20 tokens hype.

  • Ethereum: ETH and BTC futures hit $46B+ in trading volume in June. Meanwhile, both ETH and Bitcoin supply on exchanges dropped by 5.8%, and 4% in June.

  • Altcoins and stablecoins: With less than 30 days before halving, LTC surges nearly 34%. Revolut to delist MATIC, SOL, and ADA in September, in the US, due to regulatory developments. Is the world going mad? Some memecoin copies like Pepe 2.0 and similar surged over 1000%, offering substantial returns. You may be really lucky, or you may lose all your money, randomly. Would you try it? Starknet launched a testnet for Quantum Leap upgrade, leading to reduced transaction fees and improved user experience for decentralized applications. Circle's CEO is looking to issue stablecoins in Japan, following the implementation of new rules governing stablecoins. Did you heard of PGN (Public Goods Network), a blockchain meant to fund and support public goods in the crypto-space.

  • Blockchain games and NFTs: Wombat Dungeon Masters' new season started, with MATIC NFTs added to WAX and EOS ones, with more rewards, and the Dungeon World feature was launched, with a Dojo to train champions and use NFTs called sensei to improve training and get extra XP, and a mine, if you own land. On Splinterlands right now they start to use the SPS staking as a main way to boost your rewards, and you can also rent it if you are not playing, getting DEC daily instead as payment. Just checking, is anyone there still not playing Golem Overlord? This is a cool game, despite the initial fee to start it, with the potential to quickly make a decent profit if you keep your burn percentage up. Check it out! By the way, did anyone get their free Fox NFT from Shapeshift? Is quite easy, you just need some easy directions to follow. The floor price for BAYC (Bored Ape) dipped under 30 ETH, the lowest point in several months. Driven by the regulatory actions in the US, WAX experienced a 33% drop in price, a 42% drop in revenue, and a 44% drop in NFT volume, but the daily unique NFT traders metric went up by 38%.

  • Good news: South Korea passed a crypto bill tackling unfair trading, regulating unfair practices, and safeguarding investors. In the UK, the House of Lords is moving forward with a bill that empowers crypto seizure if used in illicit activities such as terrorism. Danish regulator orders Saxo Bank to sell its crypto assets, as they fall outside the legal business area of the financial institutions. Celsius was granted permission to sell more than $170M into BTC and ETH, in a move aiming to deliver BTC and ETH to the creditors awaiting repayment. Three Arrows Capital Kyle Davies pledged to return a portion of the profits from their new Open Exchange (OX) to investors who suffered in the 3AC failure. Bitfinex recovered $314K in crypto from the 2016 hack, returned by US Homeland Security.

  • Bad news: SEC vs Coinbase case was moved ahead to July 13, regarding Coinbase's defense arguing that certain tokens are beyond the Commission's jurisdiction, and the court will decide if Coinbase can proceed with its motion. Multichain Bridge raised concerns about a possible exploit exceeding $100M. They are investigating. Poly Network was hacked, again, with billion of tokens being created, but they cannot be sold due to low liquidity. Kraken was ordered by a federal court to provide IRS with customer account and transaction information, regarding individuals who transacted crypto between 2016 and 2020. Gemini co-founder Cameron Winklevoss demands $1.5B from Digital Currency Group. A Chinese City (Jinan) adopted CBDC payments in its entire bus network, after a successful trial. They are also going global, as Singapore Bank launched a digital Yuan CBDC platform for corporate clients in China. And a bit of drama from the VIP Area. It seems that FTX pulled out of Taylor Swift's deal, not the other way. Thailand banned crypto lending services. Binance has seen a number of high-level executives leaving the platform, including a CSO, a General Counsel, and a Compliance Official.

  • Joke of the week: So Azuki DAO was formed to sue the Founder after the Elementals drop, and they were targeted by hackers, who stole 35 ETH from the DAO. As the new collection dropped, Elementals, very similar looking to the primary collection, the value of the Azuki NFT dropped due to the dilution of the scarcity factors. The previous owners were not happy with the move, and they tried to sue the founder. Even the NFT royalties of ETH reached two-year lows, with Yuga Labs and RTFKT among the top earners, as OpenSea lost the lead to rival marketplace Blur, after the newly implemented rules.

All the best,

George

Why not...

...have fun and win rewards on my favorite blockchain games (Splinterlands - Hearthstone-like card game) (Mobox - GamiFI NFT platform) (Wombat Dungeon Masters NFT staking on WAX) and (X-Portal - Elrond all in one app, free NFTs, and more).
