It wasn't long ago that I told you about Serak. For the Street Art Contest #227 hosted by @digi-me, the K6A crew, led by Serak, created a superb wall (see the photo on my post). Here are some of the letterings left on the streets of Montreal, including this one done this year in Montreal's Graffiti Alley.

Cela ne fait pas longtemps que je vous ai parlé de Serak. En effet pour le Street Art Contest #227 organisé par @digi-me, le collectif K6A sous la direction de Serak a réalisé un superbe mur. Ici il s'agit de quelques lettrages laissés dans les rues de Montréal, dont celui là cette année dans la Graffiti Alley à Montréal.

Serak

I don't have much info on Serak aka The Golden Rackoon, I really like that nickname 😀. But this writer has been roaming the streets of Montreal for many years, leaving his ‘gothic’ letters all over the place. At least his style is still recognisable with the Serak letters.

Je n'ai pas beaucoup d'info sur Serak aka The Golden Rackoon, le raton laveur en or (j'aime beaucoup ce surnom 😀 ). Mais cela fait de nombreuses années que ce writer arpente les rues de Montréal pour laisser ses lettres "gothiques" un peu partout. Au moins son style est reconnaisable toujours avec les lettres Serak.

In Graffiti Alley, he made his letters in gold, which contrasts very well with the red of the brick wall, especially with the ‘on fire’ effect that surrounds them. The letters look like they've come straight from a foundry.

Dans la Graffiti Alley, il a réalisé ses lettres en or qui contraste très bien avec le rouge du mur de briques, surtout avec l'effet léger "en feu" qui les entourent. Les lettres semblent sortir tout droit d'un atelier de fonte.

Not far away, on Roy street, Serak has left another lettering with another artist close to the K6A crew, Amer. It's a shame that against this wall there are always these two big bins that often overflow. The wall was repainted this year with the K6A letters. But I haven't yet been able to take a photo without too many bins in front of it. I'm not giving up hope 🤞.

Pas très loin, dans la rue Roy, Serak a laissé un autre lettrage avec un autre artiste proche du collectif K6A, Amer. C'est dommage que contre ce mur, il y a toujours ces deux gros bacs à poubelle qui débordent souvent. Le mur a été repeint cette année avec les lettres du K6A. Mais je n'ai pas été encore en mesure prendre une photo sans trop de poubelles devant. Je ne désespère pas 🤞.

I think you've already seen this other lettering by Serak done a few years ago in Mile End. Superb especially because of the background, an old work probably by Dodo Ose that had been crossed.

Je pense que vous avez déjà présenté cet autre lettrage de Serak réalisé il y a quelques années dans le Mile-End. Superbe surtout grâce au fond, une ancienne oeuvre sûrement de Dodo Ose qui avait été pas mal tagguée.

We end with this lettering. Sometimes Serak is in more ‘stealth’ mode and leaves simpler lettering like this one in the Sainte Catherine street very close to the main stage of the Under Pressure festival. I wonder if the letters were made when the building was still there or just a pod during the festival 🤔.

On termine par ce lettrage. Parfois Serak est en mode plus "furtif" et laisse des lettrages plus simples comme celui là dans la rue Sainte Catherine tout près de la scène principale du festival Under Pressure. Je me demande si les lettres ont été faites quand le batiment était encore là ou simplement une nacelle lors du festival 🤔.
