Toujours dans la même ruelle "découverte" en allant au travail en vélo l'été dernier (voir StreetArt #671 avec HER & les Sales Momes et Street Art Contest #181 avec AWiE & AXE), il y a une autre superbe murale réalisée par MiLi, parfaite pour participer au CCC's Street Art Contest #182 toujours organisé par le seul et unique @digi-me.

WHERE

As I said in my introduction, we're still in the alley north of rue Sainte Catherine between rue De Chambly and rue Nicolet in Hochelaga Maisonneuve, Montreal.

Comme je l'ai dit en introduction, nous sommes toujours dans la ruelle au nord de la rue Sainte Catherine entre la rue De Chambly et la rue Nicolet dans Hochelaga Maisonneuve à Montréal.

MiLi

MiLi aka Millie Caron is a Montreal-based muralist and illustrator. She has produced numerous murals all over the world. I thought I'd already mentioned this artist, but I can only find a mushroom painted in the Legal Wall de Rouen (StreetArt #552). She studied Art at UQAM (Université du Québec à Montréal) and has traveled extensively to develop her universe.

MiLi aka Millie Caron est une muraliste et illustratrice basée à Montréal. Elle a produit de nombreuses murales un peu partout dans le monde. Je pensais avoir déjà parlé de cette artiste mais je retrouve seulement un champignon peint dans le Mur Légal de Rouen (StreetArt #552). Elle a fait ses études en Art à l'UQAM (Université du Québec à Montréal) et a beaucoup voyagé pour développer son univers.

This mural was painted in 2022 in the popular Hochelago district. Measuring 15 by 17 feet (4.6 on 5.2 meters), it is the largest mural painted by MiLi. You immediately notice her universe, mixing the real and the imaginary. Superb flying islands linked together by wooden bridges. It reminds me of the films by Japanese studio Ghibli.

Cette murale a été peinte en 2022 dans le quartier populaire de Hochelago. Avec une taille de 4.6 sur 5.2 mètres (15 pieds par 17), c'est la murale la plus grande peinte par MiLi. On remarque de suite son univers mélangeant le réel et l'imaginaire. Superbe ces iles volantes reliées les unes aux autres grâce à des ponts en bois. Cela me fait penser au films du studio japonais Ghibli.

On her Instagram post, she says: "I often still doubt myself. I've just learned better how to let things go and accept myself again and again. And in these moments, magic happens" (source Instagram). The magic really worked on this mural. What do you think?

Sur son post Instagram, elle dit : "Je doute encore souvent de moi. J'ai juste appris à mieux laisser aller les choses et à m'accepter encore et encore. Et dans ces moments-là, la magie opère." (source Instagram). La magie a vraiment marché sur cette murale. Qu'en pensez-vous ?
