Here's my entry for the CCC's Street Art Contest #175 with a collage by Stikki Peaches inspired by a portrait of the famous singer Sade Adu from the English music group of the same name. Other artists have pasted their works around it, stickers and other collages. Great final result...

Voici mon entrée pour le CCC's Street Art Contest #175 avec un collage réalisé par Stikki Peaches inspiré d'un portrait de la fameuse chanteuse Sade Adu du groupe de musique anglais du même nom. D'autres artistes ont collé leurs œuvres autour, autocollants et autres collages. Bel ensemble...

Stikky Peaches

Born in Montreal of an Italian family, Stikki Peaches started out as a fashion designer. Now he creates stunning collages combining political and historical symbols with popular figures, from Elvis Presley to Darth Vader. In Montreal, there were portraits of Heath Ledger and Bob Marley (Street Art #247) or Salvador Dali (Street Art #078). The portrait gallery was completed this year. At first, I thought he was accompanying his work with a childlike collage 🔼 but it's actually the work of his children. Really cool to associate the family with his artwork. The brother and especially the sister, the older one, now have their own Instagram account : Stella Peaches.

Né à Montréal d'une famille italienne, Stikki Peaches a commencé comme créateur de mode. Maintenant, il crée de superbes collages combinant des symboles politiques et historiques avec des figures populaires, d'Elvis Presley à Dark Vador. À Montréal, il y a eu les portraits de Heath Ledger et Bob Marley (Street Art #247) ou Salvador Dali (Street Art #078). La galerie de portraits s'est complétée cette année. Au début, je pensais qu'il accompagnait son œuvre d'un collage au style enfantin 🔼 mais en fait c'est l'oeuvre de ses enfants. Vraiment cool d'associer la famille à son travail artistique. Le frère et surtout la sœur, la plus grande, ont maintenant leur propre compte Instagram : Stella Peaches.

As I said in the introduction, a number of artists have surrounded this collage with stickers, including James Flux, Bruho, Urban Ninja, TyPro, Wilson... You can check out my previous post StickerArt #042 for more info and stickers from these Toronto artists. And above Sade's head is the smiley face of MakeNoize. On the left, the red circle with "tribal" signs was made by an unknown artist, although I've found several of his works on the streets of Montreal. I hope to find his name soon so I can write a post about him 🤞.

Comme je le disais en introduction, des artistes ont entouré ce collage de quelques autocollants comme James Flux, Bruho, Urban Ninja, TyPro, Wilson... Vous pouvez aller voir mon post précédent StickerArt #042 pour plus d'info et de stickers de ces artistes de Toronto. Et au dessus de la tête de Sade, il y a le smiley de MakeNoize. Sur la gauche, le cercle rouge avec des signes "tribaux" a été fait par un artiste inconnu bien que j'ai trouvé plusieurs de ses oeuvres dans les rues de Montréal. J'espère pouvoir bientôt trouver son nom pour écrire un post à son sujet 🤞.

But I found some other collages by Stikki Peaches like this Kobe Bryant that stands out superbly on this black brick wall. Lots of detail on this paste-up (as always), especially the word Mamba topped with a crown 👍.

Mais j'ai trouvé d'autres collages de Stikki Peaches comme ce Kobe Bryant qui ressort super bien sur ce mur de briques noires. Plein de détails, surtout Mamba surmontée d'une couronne 👍.

There was also this Frida Khalo. It's amazing how this artist still influences so many artists. This face has become an icon. Another superb tribute. / FR : Il y avait aussi cette Frida Khalo. C'est incroyable comme cette artiste influe encore de nombreux artistes. Ce visage est devenu une icône. Encore un superbe hommage.

And we end this series with the Italian-French actress Sophia Loren. Here again, a real success... / FR : Et nous terminons cette série avec l'actrice italienne et française Sophia Loren. Là aussi, vraiment réussi...

 

Do you have a favorite collage? For me it remains the portrait of Kobe Bryant but I'm a basketball fan, so I'm not impartial* 😀.

Avez-vous un collage préféré ? Pour moi cela reste le portrait de Kobe Bryant mais je suis un fan de basket, alors je ne suis pas impartial 😀.
